during my surfing on this site, I saw many questions about earning money for responses. the common answers were: "you'll earn money for quality responses". So my question is, how does mylot decide whether my responses are quality, and how will it change the money i'll earn for it?

Hello hagmic22! I think if your response is sensible and if it will help the author of the discussion understand things better then that should be counted as a quality response right? Some people will respond with just "I agree" and that is merely a response at all. Since what we are aiming for is a discussion, then responses are expected to be threaded and that will only be achieved if both the author and the respondent at least know what they are talking about. I also agree with the first response about correct English grammar and perhaps punctuation marks, etc.

We are not allowed to speculate on the nature of the Earnings algorithm. You can be certain, however, that it is complex and far more than just a simple 'word count'. It also takes into account the ratings that other people give to your discussions, responses and comments, as is stated in the FAQs. The definitive answer to your question is to be found here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#15 Any other is pure speculation and is therefore a violation of the Guidelines: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx

What is important to you (and everyone) is not how MyLot decide whether your participation is of good quality or not but whether is IS! Does what you post materially add to the discussion topic or not? Is it clear and descriptive? Could you make it better? THESE are the questions you should be asking, not 'How much will I earn for this?'!

It will certainly benefit people if correct spelling, grammar and punctuation are used, as far as possible. It's not possible to say whether this will improve your earnings or not, however. It will certainly help to improve your English and, although MyLot don't issue us with 'Certificates of Proficiency', that might be said to be one of the 'intangible' benefits of the "MyLot experience"!

I understand what you said. Just like you, I'm here to participate discussion. But, I also want to earn money, so if misspelling or grammatical mistakes prevents me from reaching my goals, this is something I would like to know about. I am not a native English speaker, so this information is important to me.

Yes, being a member here it is always about Quality over quantity and that is even the way that myLot chooses to pay us here. Quality is when responding back to someone you post at least 4-6 lines when you can not repeating yourself and sticking to the topic at hand. It really is about sharing your feelings here, and then letting the others here RATE you and decide what is Best from there. It is the users who determine more what is quality here than myLot. Welcome to myLot and Wishing you the Best.

Hi hagmic22, welcome to myLot Yeah, it's true that we'll earn more if posting quality responses. I always do my best to write content related to the topics which I'm interested. And it would be nice if we could express them descriptively, like what we are asked "Please be as descriptive as possible" shown clearly below the two words "your response" below our avatar when we go to the response page. This means that quality responses are posts with descriptive content related to the topic. Obviously two or three or less sentences could hardly describe what we wish to express in detail for sure. We learn from our experience doing post here as well. The more often we work here we would get to know how we could earn more here. We would be paid if we start a discussion and comment back to all the responses received. Hopefully you would find the great fun to be here Happy posting

Ya that is a question.. But as far as i know, mylot decide the quality by checking, language(English), grammar, spelling, and content(no: of words). This what i heard from senior mylotters. But I am also waiting to have more response for this discussion. I also wish to know the exact way, Mylot calculate the earnings for our comment.

wow Thanks for your response. What you said sounds interesting. However, it is really hard to me to believe that mylot goes over an check every single respond, since they claim the earnings are updated every day. Anyway, from now on, I will be more pedantic about capital letters and spelling...

For me, quality responses means longer replies to discussions. Not just being long, I think it also has to do with the content. The content must be related to the discussion of course. And you must give incites, extra information related to the subject. It's better if you can share more information regarding the matter. If the post/reply is very interactive, then that's the quality response. It also helps if everyone understand what you're talking about.
