Which one would you reccomend. I want to buy a new hardware, but i am not sure what should I buy? A laptop or a pad. Both have ups and down, and I believe laptops are a little bit cheaper, but pad are more versatile and do not suffer from heat and dust as laptops do.

it depend with your job, my friend. if you do a simple job, you can buy pad, more job, laptop. but if you like to play with software, etc, you must use desktop. it just depend with what you wanna do on your work.

I think it is convenient to use laptop than desktop because we cannot move it inside house. If however we want to use it in one place then desktop is good and it will work out cheaper than laptop.

I thinnk I am going for the Pad, though. I just need something i can browse the net every now and then, read .PDFs word documents and other stuff from school. I do not need it for complicated things such as picture editing or something like that.

then it is fine. If you are able to judge your requirements and decide then that is fine and excellent.

welcome to mylot. I recommend your buying laptop -- 1) it is cheaper 2) it is not inconvenient to use. 3) I am more happy with laptop's usage. I recommend your buying HP laptop - i5 or i7.

Acer --may be cheaper because it cannot be upgraded (atom). HP laptops are upgradable.

But if you do not have the money for an expensive laptop then maybe you don't have moeny for upgrades either, so if you choose a cheaper laptop you are doing so because you do not have the money for a more expensive one, not just for the sake of it. HP laptops are top quality, I know, but if you do not have that kind of money you have to make compromises, and settle with a cheaper one. This is life... :)

HP is a little to expensive for what it has to offer. Acer, on the other hand is not that well known and well apreciated, but the prices are so affordable for the performances that it would be a sin not to wnt one. Anyways, I am opting for the Pad, because it is so much mobile, the battery lasts for longer, and you don't have to bother about dust getting in and causing it to malfunction.

i think laptop is better..because normally they enables better features and so possibility for you for private or business use!!In reality tablets,i think you meant these devices as pads, are just the tech trend of the moment but they enables not so improved specs and so they are near much more to smartphones than a regular pc!!

For me, I always think that a laptop is easier because I am not very good at typing on a touch screen and I work on the internet so this means that the faster I type, the more money I earn (I write articles for a living). If I were to buy a tablet, I would not use it for work and I would just use it for games, which means that it would probably be a waste of money for me. My Mother is thinking about buying a tablet, and I would like to see what it is like to use as I have never really spent all that much time on them myself.

Hey!, Like everyone else said, it really depends on the uses of the device. I personally would get a laptop because I can do everything on it and more, plus, I can type up documents and make presentations at ease as oppose to a pad, which you may need ADDITIONAL parts to have physical keyboard functionality. If you are just browsing, sending emails, and light video watching, then go for the pad, since its extremely light, otherwise, go for the laptop, hope this helps!

Actually it depends on your needs and budget. You can buy either because it will always depend on how you will use them. However, I prefer a laptop/notebook since I am more comfortable with the software and hardware(like keyboard and mouse).
