Have you already experienced being nervous when you were applying in call center? How come you felt that way? How did you answer them if you are feeling nervous? Were you able to pass the initial or final interview even if you are nervous? Did the interviewer noticed that you were nervous?

I had worked on a call center for 10 years now. In those 10 years, I have worked in 3 call centers. And in those companies I went to, I have always been nervous especially if there are mocked calls. But somehow, I always get through it. I always pass (probably because they know that I know something in regards with the job that I am applying and feel that I will get past it once I am already taking actual calls). I just try to find something to hold on to like a pencil or bottle of water.

Good thing you were able to cope up with it. So what account do you handle?

Oh that is cool. Then no wonder that you will be really encountering a lot of irate customers.

I think if we nervous during is not good because the interviewer notice about and assume that we our confident is not fit with the jobs that we are applying for. But in the Philippines, if your nervous during interview you will pass unless you have friend or someone introduce you to the company... I notice also that interview is not what you know but whom you know...

I agree with you, my friend. I really disappointed about the system...better not posting any vacant jobs and just ask their relatives or friends to work with the company. I remember when apply as email support. I though they hired me because I passed all the required exam and interview. They ask me to report tomorrow after the interview and start the training immediately. I am surprise that they called me to say that pass another interview. I said okay but the interviewer ask me different things and as usual I have no friend in the company and a walk in applicant. Then the interview said just wait a week for a call... I almost kick the interviewer about because of my disappointment

That is the problem here about the system. Anything is failure especially the JUSTICE. Then if you are looking for job it is either you are the most best greatest competitor that can make you as their asset or you are not competitive but at least you know someone inside.

The first time I was interviewed, I was holding my laugh. I couldn't keep a straight face answering their questions in english without laughing. It really seemed like the whole thing was a big joke, and because of that, I didn't get the job.

The only thing I learned is you get over it with time like any other jokes. It's not funny anymore for me now, but back then it was because it's the first time I was doing it.

The first time I applied in a call center is in People Support. I was passed the exam but in the initial interview I failed because of my wrong pronunciation. So I try to re-apply after few months. I got failed again because I'm not prepared for a behavioral interview. This month I'm planning to apply again so I'm practicing myself to be more confident to answer all the posibble questions.

So why do you want in People Support and why not in other call centers? Because in my case I want in Teleperformance because of the online gaming account. And that is what I did I have my paper and the script so that I have my guide on what to answer.

Not only call centre interview but in any interview we feel nervous. Even the person is intelligent in their study but they feel nervous at the time of interview. I will also face the interview on 27th March in Central School and I am feeling nervous and not understand how can prepared.

I understand your point that in any interview we feel nervous. But of course I want to specify it in call center aspect because it is the industry wherein it is related into communication skills.

To be nervous in any interview is really normal. The first time that I was interviewed when I was really so nervous, I was mumbling and I'm really not prepared because I was not aware on how does it feel to be interviewed. At that time I fail, my interview. One of the most unforgettable moment is when I apply in a call center and I landed that job. It made me happy because I feel that I was incompetent to land for that job.

At least you are lucky enough to be accepted even for the first time. In my case I have to re apply all over to repeat the process. Then in Sitel I really doubt it if I would be accepted there right away.

Personally even though I have worked at a Call Center for the last 6+ yrs. when I have applied for a job thru somewhere else, I am always nervous. Never know what to expect, and not sure how to react which I feel is often only normal. They always tell you to be calm and just answer what they need to know and everything will be OK, but often I think they're always looking for more.

I have been working in the BPO industry for 4 years now and there was never a time during my interview that i din not get nervous. It is just a normal part of it so there's really nothing wrong about it. Almost in all my interviews, I get nervous and I tell my interviewer on how Im feeling. It is helpful when you get to express what you feel and it lessen the anxiety.

When I graduated in college,my target company to apply is call center and my first interview was in a call center agency. During that time, I was not so prepared with it and as expected I did not passed the interview. It was just only in the first step and that was in the exam part. And then as day gone by, I tried another call center and then I failed again. There came to the point that I was so depressed. I could not count anymore how many call center agencies where I applied. Some interviewer said that I have my "p" and "th" problems in pronunciation. I gave up on applying to any call center companies and I ended up hired in a telecommunication company. I am now 3 years in here and I am enjoying my work. God is still good for me.
