Different experiences

As there are many different women, I think there are many different experiences in giving birth too. A lot of women have told me of the labor and delivery and pregnancy and every story is a little different. It's amazing to me sometimes how women can endure such pain but have such joy from their new baby. I had a different experience each time I became pregnant with each child. Sometimes it was fairly easy like with my youngest daughter to very difficult like with my youngest son who died soon after birth. It is still painful after all these years but god has a little angel to add now, that's I how I deal with it now, anyway. I was just curious if anyone may wish to share their child birthing stories. If you want, that is, my lot friends!

I will share! I had all 3 of my children naturally. My oldest daughter was an easy pregnancy but very tough delivery. It hurt so much and I threw up a few times due to the pain. It was tough. My son was an easy pregnancy for the most part. Towards the end I was losing fluid around him so they induced me. It did not hurt anywhere near as much as my oldest. With my youngest daughter the pregnancy was easy with no complications. And when I went into labor it was so weird. I had no pain at all. I had no painful contractions. I went to stand up, my legs went weak and I felt something drop. I told my husband I felt the urge to push and we went to the hospital. When we got there I was 10cm and the doctors rushed me back to have her. Two pushes and I had her. No problems with her and it was my easiest delivery. No epidural for me! =)

What struck me was that you threw up during labor. That's unusual isn't it?

No actually. Thats just how my body handled the pain. The doctors said it was normal for doing it naturally.

I have heard that throwing up is quite a natural reaction to child birth. So you are not alone in that! I also refused any meds and gave birth naturally. I have only had one baby so I have nothing to compare it to, but it wasn't really what I thought it would be like. My labour progressed quickly - only a few hours of hard contractions and I was ready to push (the dr.'s were surprised at how fast it came on) but then I felt like I was pushing forever. I don't know the exact time, but I'm pretty sure it was about an hour and a half worth of pushing. Does anyone know if that's average or not? It was very painful, but doable. It's not a pain that I have ever experienced before and I don't think it's really possible to describe it either. Everyone always says it's like bad period cramps. I get BAD period cramps...this was worse. However if you take it moment to moment, contraction to contraction it seems to make it a little easier. When I was pushing all I could think about was making sure the baby was okay and knowing that this was my job to do. So I just did it. Pain and all.

My oldest was my rough pregnancy, couldn't keep any food down, on bed rest, I had a 36 hour labor which resulted in a c-section. My last child who is 8months now, was my easy baby, super easy pregnancy, and from the begining of my labor, to the time she was born was just under 3 hours, and mind you that was a VBAC, which are supposed to be more difficult, I think they lie!!......When I was pregnant and realized dangerous a VBAC was, I said I was never having anymore kids, but after her super easy delivery, I'm thinking about number 3 ;)

When I was giving birth I stayed on labor for almost twelve hours and my labor did not progress, only one cm, it was very painful even though I had epidural. After twelve hours in non progressing labor, my OB decided that I needed a CS.
