I've been using eye glass for so many years, but I decided not to wear it for almost 3yrs now. Since I can still manage to read without reading glass. I stop using because the nose pad of the eyeglass got marked on my nose, and for long used the mark is getting darker it's really disgusting. Now I need to go back using reading glass again, well it's hard to accept but it's a sign of old age. Still the problem is there I don't want to have mark on my nose. Yesterday I went to my favorite optical shop to ask advice and looking for a frame. I want advices from you friends can you help me with this. Thanks...

I have a a good eyesight. Too bad, you have to wear eyeglasses. But as you have said, you can still read without it. But I think it's better to wear them to prevent further damage on your vision. If your problem is the nose pad, you can ask your optometrist to fix them. Or better yet, try wearing contact lens.

Yhea maybe it is also sign of aging since I been so exposed in computer and handcrafts that's why It made them worst. I don't like contact lens it's not ready to wear like eyeglass you can use and take it off anywhere you want.

Hi there lynboobsy, i think it is best that your opthalmologist give you advice on this since they know the kinds of glasses that has nose pads that can be used without causing any darkenning of that part of youre nose, it is really a drag for that to happen i know since i also do wear glasses so i guess just talk to them for better advice. Though it might cause extra.

I do have poor eyesight too.I'm using contact lens right now instead of eyeglasses cause it is quite heavy especially the metal one.But still,I always have my glasses with me in case I don't have much time to put my contacts especially when I'm going to be late at work. I think you should choose frames that are titanium which is quite lighter that the usual frames. There are also some frames that are light like Airlock and Swissflex.

if it's just a reading glasses then you don't have to wear them all the time and you won't have marks on your nose. if you're prescribed to wear it at all times then maybe you should invest in contact lenses or have a brand of eyeglasses so the quality would be better (and maybe make no marks on your nose).

I don't wear glasses to read but I have to wear safety glasses at work everyday. I have had some that leave those little marks on the side of my nose too. I have tried a lot of different kinds of safety glasses to prevent those marks...they are tender too. I think I have found a pair that isn't going to leave the marks. Maybe if you get a lighter pair, it will help.

Hi lynboobsy. I keep several pairs of reading glasses, and none of them have that little pad on there. I don't like them cause I wear my glasses on my head when I'm not using them, and when I take them out of my hair, they pull some of my hair out. So all of glasses are without the pads. They're good. I have no problems with them at all. Maybe you should try them. I think you would like them okay since I do.

I have been using eyeglasses for several years now however I only use them when reading. I chose light frames for my glasses. Maybe you can use rimless frame for glasses. It is very light.

Hai Lyn.. I wear glasses at some times...That's not because of my bad eyesight..When I use laptop,My eyes get wet..So the doctor advised me to use glass which have no power..Now I use glasses while doing mylot and other activities on internet..You should consult the doctor and discuss about your problem...He will help you..I think that you can make a small surgery..So that there is no need of glass..Or you can use any types of lenses that directly fit to the main part of the eye..Thank you
