Defriending in Mylot

I delete people who are not active in months, people who ask me to be their friend only to spam me and silent entities who ask for friendship and you never hear from them again.

I have not defriended anyone here at MyLot. With that being said, I can relate to what you are saying about tactless comments. There are a few people that I have in my friends section that no matter how you comment on their threads they comment back in some tactless way. It does not matter if you are being sympathetic to their situation or if you are offering advice or what have you. They just seem to want to be argumentative about anything you have commented on. I have not defriended these people but I have stopped commenting on them all together. I make sure before I respond to any discussions that it is not started by these people before hand. As far as friends not being online for long periods of time, I can sympathize and relate with them. Sometimes it is hard to be online all of the time. Life catches up with us and we just don't have time for MyLot or sickness, family, work or anything else in between can get in the way. I do not punish my friends for this by defriending them.

I don't remember defriending anybody here in Mylot but I could imagine why if I did. I guess tactless comments would be in the top 5 of the reasons, but I normally just see them as expressions or opinions, unless they were personal assault.

It's really hard not to get affected with tactless remarks especially when these came from your friends. I guess we always assume our friends would respond in a manner sympathetic to us. But even friends have their own way of expressing themselves. Maybe some of your friends had not realized they were being tactless already. Why not give them another chance and not de-friend them for the meantime. Maybe they were not having a good day also at the time they made their response.

Many defreind because they feel - friends are to respond on whatever they put up here. Many defriend because they feel - an inactive friend is worthless. Maybe some more but I have seen a few discussions relating to deletion of friends based on these reasons. Personally, I do not delete any friend - I deleted only one and the reasons were personal and mindset differences. I normally do not make friends easily, and even those who send me FRs they have to wait for a while and during this I try to find if our mindsets and thoughts match. So I see no reason beyond this to remove a friend on my list.
