My kids call me: mom, momma, mommy I don't prefer anything I answer to whatever. When they first learned how to say it it was momma. They also call there dad: dad, dadda, or daddy and he too will answer to whatever. My oldest son who has a different dad then my boyfriend will sometimes call him by his first name or he sometimes calls him dad, he will answer him to both and he calls him dad when he feels like it no pressure.

Hi floridachick, Both of my kids were born in the UK and their Dad is Portuguese. It was common for our eldest to call me mum or mummy but in later years when his younger brother came along and by the time he started speaking we lived in Portugal for a short while, he started calling me Mai (Portuguese for mum). Our youngest calls me Mai, it seems to have stuck. Being Irish and living away from home (Ireland) I longed to be called Mammy or even Ma! Sometimes the youngest will call me Mammy (normally that's when he's trying to get round me for something) cos I've told him in the past that I love it when he calls me that. I've also told both kids to call me whatever they like (within reason, of course!!!). IrishGal77 :)
