Does anyone still use NetFlix?

I am wondering if anyone still uses it after the poor decisions they have made lately, starting with raising the prices followed by the quickly ended idea to split the company into two entities as well as deciding not to supply video game rentals. Finally starting tomorrow movies such as Scarface and Toy Story 3 because they claim more people watch TV shows than movies on there....Personally I think their movie supply is absolutely pathetic so I am wondering about the feelings of my fellow mylotters...so have at it...

"Finally starting tomorrow movies such as Scarface and Toy Story 3 because they claim more people watch TV shows than movies on there...." I don't know what you are trying to say here. I JUST looked over their press releases and don't see anything regarding them no longer carrying movies. They are adding the Playstation Vita to the list of devices people can use to stream instant video and that press release says "TV and movies." Personally, I think people are getting twitterpated over nothing. They raised the price of the combined package - DVDs by mail and streaming video - to the price the DVDs were when I first signed up. Throughout my membership I have seen the prices fluctuate but of course no one complains when they are decreased. When I first signed up I was paying $18.99 a month for unlimited rentals with 3 out at a time. No streaming. Later, they added streaming but didn't change the price. Then they dropped the price to, I believe $14.99 for the same package.... It's been changing all along and they have ALWAYS sent out a message saying this is what's happening you have the option of going with it or canceling your service. I have just the streaming now, dropping the DVDs by mail because I never watched them. The last one I had that I sent back unwatched I had for nearly six months. So it was pointless for me to even have that service. With the streaming I can watch whatever I want when I want to watch it. As far as the selection... it bothered me for a while too until I figured out that the selection you get with Amazon Prime is exactly the same. Pick any movie you can't find on Netflix and search Amazon's instant watch service for it and I can almost guarantee it won't be there. It's not Netflix's fault, it's the film distributors that won't release the rights for the movies to be streamed.

I think what Programmerprimo was referring to when he mentioned movies such as Scarface and Toy Story 3 being unavailable for streaming after tomorrow is the Starz Play deal. Because Netflix and Starz couldn't reach an agreement on licensing the content after February 29, there's around 900 (or more) titles that won't be available on March 1.

I just use the streaming part of it, I don't do the DVDs in the mail anymore as of course the prices went up and it's just not worth it to me to have both! So I do the streaming, which is alright. I usually can find SOMETHING to watch, even if the movies they have on instant watch are D-listers that no one has ever heard of...lol.

I agree that they are 95% D list movies that are never mentioned anywhere. It causes me to lower my standards of stuff to watch that's for sure. I do think they should have gone with the video game option because Gamefly doesn't have the greatest amount of warehouses to ship from. If Netflix would have offered games Gamefly would be in serious trouble because Netflix has far quicker turn around on their discs.

I still use Netflix. I've been with them for 15 years or longer & I'm just waiting for the dust to clear. I used Redbox for a while & they raised their prices too. Yes, Netflix made a few rotten decisions, but they seem to be correcting them & I will wait a while longer before jumping ship. I could care less about Scarface & Toy Story 3 as I wouldn't watch either of those if they were there. Plus, if I really wanted to watch either of those, I can watch them through my cable company for free...well not free, but in my regular monthly payment!!!

I use it for streaming only. I have to since I do not have cable or satellite. I stream the internet using a Roku for my tv's. I love it and should have switched much sooner than I did. I am saving about 70 dollars per month. I use amazon prime for my on demand movie and tv show rentals if I need to. I can watch a few live channels like CNN Intl for free. There are so many free channels I cannot fit them all. lol. I love being able to watch a whole series, all the seasons, on Netflix.

I still have netflix, and will continue for a while. It is a legal way to watch a ton of stuff. I love the selection that they have of childrens tv shows. I have never been a huge movie watcher and tended to the B rate movies anyways...they still have a ton of those.
