General Hospital Soap... are they going to make us sit through another one?

Seriously? I mean, while soaps are in the hot seat for cancellation...General Hospital is doing these storylines? I mean come on...of course Patrick isn't going to kill Jason. Yet they drag us through the "decision"..he nearly lets Jason die on the op table and then comes to his senses. Holly mysteriously appears and of course spouts off that Ethan is not Lukes, but Robert's...trying to get Helena not to kill him. She's as likely to kill him to not have a witness! Of course she is lieing. And even if she isn't...what a lame storyline! We dont' care who his father is!!!! They drug it out once, please don't do it again!!!
And Todd Maaning comes to town to go against Sonny as he think Sonny is the one that caused hte accident that killed his grand daughter...HO HUM to the max!!!! But it seems from a preview that Blair and Carly are friends from the past, that might be something good, but other than that...can't the writers give the show some character instead of just rehashing the same old lines...and then not ending them any different?
Why didn't they have Stavros come "back to life" again...he just jumped into the secret hole his mother created...you know he didn't die...so why didn't they bring him back to wreek havoc on PC? I think everyone is tired of the Spencer/Cassidine fued...mainly cause it goes nowhere. Why dont they do another "freeze Port Charles" or soemthing out of the norm and give us some comedy and sillyness to tune into!
And if Maxie whines one more time about Matt and trashes SPenilli one more time...and Sonny gets away with one more crime, and Patrick goes crazy and all the same old stuff they have been doing...I wouldn't be surprised if we dont' see the show after September!
Kate needs to have this alter personality. Anthony needs to go back to the streets and Sonny needs to spend some time in jail, while Carly can have something to do in cahoots with Blair and of course Starr and Michael will pair up. An while before we had whiney Laura, now we have whiney Lulu....and before it was Bobbi that was after all the men, now it is Liz...and okay, off my soap box. I am just dissapointed in the show lately. Is everyone still watching or have you slacked off to? Oh wait...Franco..can we PLEASE let him die for good! That is the dumbest storyline they have had since...welll, I was going to say since the outer space Alien landed in Anna's front yard and set up housekeeping in her garage, but I think that was even more watchable than Franco!!! Wind up that story, writers!

Having just started watching again after many years because I was curious how the OLTL characters were going to be used, I am not all that happy with what I have seen so far. I remember it being much better back when I used to watch and that it wasn't so much about Sonny. I guess to get Todd to go after Sonny they had to kill off Hope but it seems a little harsh to me. The whole thing about Hope being left in the car by Starr and Michael taking so long to try the side of the car that had the only door that wasn't stuck was just plain poor, unrealistic writing even for a SOAP. And how could Sonny shoot out the tires with his wounded arm and be such an accurate shot in a moving car shooting at another moving car. Once I see why Todd is free from the charges that he killed Victor and how John and Blair are going to fit in, I may be finished watching if everything else continues like I've seen so far.

I dont' get how the car was okay when Starr got out on the passenger side, yet, she couldn't go back to get Hope on the passenger side. There was enough room for her to walk around the car, but not enough to hold the car as if fell.
And Sonny was shot in his left arm, and shoots with his right. Sonny didn't shot the tires..to obvious. THey just needed that to start the story of the Mannings come to town.
Yeah,t hey'd better do something better. You haven't missed much. More maxie whineing, more Patrick whining, more Franco crapola! Only thing interesting, and I hope they continue making it interesting..is Kate and her "issue". I hope they make it an alter personality thing and have her doing stuff she dont' know about and all. THey did that while back with Alexis...only I think she really did know what she was doing, and purposely acting and disguising herself..I forget the whole thing..something about her sister was killed by ALcazar and the she killed Alcazar. I dont' remember if she was lucid or not but it was pretty good.
I am so sick of Sonny...he does nothing but look for a woman and populate the city!
The shooting Anthony's tires... I think that was the other "family"...the one that is Johnny's real father, now that it is revealed that Claudia was his mother, not his sister and he should have been in the other "family" and Anthony took that from them, so they are going after him for doing that.

I really think that the way Robin was written out too leaves her a spot in case she wants to come back. Not sure there but I think so. Many are sick of Franco also and hope for him to be gone. I think there is more to the story though.

I don't hate the show nearly as much as you. Now I'm disappointed in a lot of these storylines. But they recently brought in new writers and I'm anticipating the changes that will be made to these stories. I am really tired of everything they are doing to make Sonny look even worse than he already does. I mean, c'mon. The characters they could take off tomorrow and I wouldn't care are: Liz, Matt, Alexis, Olivia, Steve, and Dante. I wish they'd bring back Nikolas, Emily, and Laura if she was the old Laura and not the simpering victim they last made her. Although I know Genie Francis is on Y&R. And if they brought Laura back I wouldn't mind seeing Stavros return either.
I didn't like Todd or Blair on OLTL, so having them on GH doesn't make me super happy anyway.

See what I want with Laura is to come back and be like the female Luke. Make Luke the one hanging this time. I'd love it if she didn't give him the time of day. OR, waht if she came back with Stavros as his wife? Then it would be like, uh, say what?!
If they recast Emily, I'd want Bree Williamson, who was Jessica on OLTL. I'd just take Jessica if they would give her to us.

Well now that'd be prob a good storyline...Stavros and Laura return to PC...we need a good Cassidine fight. That thing with Helena last week..what a confounded stupid joke of a thing to do! I mean come on...dangle the possible excitment in front of us then yank it away!!!!

I dont' hate it, just dissapointed with the storys lately. THey just keep rehashing them over and over and dragging them out to long. I'd go along with most of what you say, only if they bring back Laura I WILL stop watching! I never could stand that character!!! I wish they'd kept Olivia with Johnny, but other than that, I"m with you on the "take offers"!! But I'd toss Lulu in there instead of Olivia or maybe keep Alexis. Although I'd prefer the replace Alexis with Diane. Emily is another I don't care to ever see again. And Nickolas..if they'd do something with him as a Cassidine..that'd be fine, but all they left him as was a male version of Laura!!!
I don't like TOdd and Blair either. Of all the characters to bring over, they chose them...don't know why! Dorain would have been a great asset to Port Charles! I see on a preview that Carly and Blair know each other from the past...don't see much excitement there! But you know they will put Starr and Michael together...gotta have the families ala Romeo/Juliett style keep on fightng!

I don't get around to watching the soap that often anymore, I do read the recaps regularly. They do need some new storylines. I still like Liz, but they have made her character one that does not make much sense. Can't they keep one nice stable relationship in the mix....at least for few years. Then they can throw the curve ball and screw it up.

They don't seem to be able to do that...I too would like to see one happy family for awhile! It just really gets gross when they have everyone marry and divorce and have kids while or inbetween..all the kids in town are related by either the same mother or same father! how are they going to match anyone up in later years? Oh, yeah...a mixed up DNA test showing that that one parent isn't really the kids parent!! Soap 101a

I'm wondering if the storylines are going the way they are because they have already decided NOT to return past September? Nothing else makes a whole lot of sense right now.
Like why bring in these characters from other soaps? I realize there is a "sister and brother hood" symbolism, but how do they feel the additions are going to benefit an already going down the drain soap, that I have watched and walked away from since I was a teen lol!
As for Laura, I don't want to she her come back in the catatonic state she is in at the hospital. I liked it when they gave her that "trial medication" and she was able to connect with her family and friends alike. Having her be catatonic and do nothing but stare, is a sad thing for a character. Why haven't they just given her the so called "test medicine" permanently?
