When friends become lovers

Never in a million years did I think that at the age of thirty four(34) I would find unexpected love with my friend of sixteen (16) years.
Truth be told,if someone were to tell me that he and I would be together right now 2 years ago I would've laughed uncontrollably in their faces, and have them sent to the Pschye ward, but you never know where life would lead you.
Sixteen (16) years is a long time to know someone, much more being friends with someone, but my beau and I met each other all those years ago working in a supermarket. It was my very first job out of Secondary School and during the midst of it all he enters my life. He was a wrapper at said grocery, and for the two weeks I was employed there, he proved to be a really great friend. He was and always has been a way better friend to me than I was/am to him, and that encompasses the length of time we've known each other.
He's intelligent, dare I say a genius even, great looking, loves GOD,diligent, never faltering, always strives to keep his word, a gentleman, basically if you get this guy as a friend it's advisable to hold onto him for dear life, cause I've never met anyone like him and he truly exemplifies what it means to be a long standing friend.
When my little twenty seven year old (27) sister died unexpectedly 2 years ago February 25th, I saw a side of him that made my heart flutter, and oh how I fought it when I realised I was falling for him, but she predicted it would happen before her death, to which I responded "not a chance in hell", lol.
To make a long story short, we've some adjustments and transitions to make as we're both coming to terms with us mobilising from friends to boyfriend and girlfriend (hate those terms, but that's what we are),but I've never been happier, and I'm just so glad that I took a chance with love, and that love took a chance with me

That is such a beautiful thing. It's so beautiful it makes me want to cry. I'm so very happy for you. Having a friend like that is so wonderful. And like you said you want to hang on to a person like that forever. I'm so truly glad that you two are able to be together. And the feelings that you both have for each other is so real and genuine. You both care and love for each other deeply. It is very hard to find true and genuine relationships like that. It is a neat and wonderful thing that you both have. Keep that friendship strong and continue to do all the things that you both have to keep it strong. Thanks so much for sharing.

You are so welcome. I'm really happy for you both. The relationship that you have together is so precious. It is so hard to find a love like yours. It is very encouraging for you to share your awesome experience of your great relationship. I'm sure that many people will be uplifted by it. It is such a great story that it could be a book.

I became friends with a really great guy I met online. We talked for hours on instant chatting then text messaged each other pretty much all day long then called each other and would talk for numerous hours. When we finally met it was amazing and I fell in love with him after a few dates. I love hime dearly and we've been together for almost 2 years.

It is excellent that your love story worked out for the best, and I am glad that you're happy, but things don't always work out like this. When I was in college, we were in a friendship group and very happy, until a lad and a girl decided that they liked each other and wanted to get together. It was good for a while, but then things started to go wrong for them and this made everything awkward in our group because we had to take sides as they wouldn't be in the same place together. It was very hard, and our group hasn't been the same since that time.

Ohhh yeah that is rough, I'm sorry things worked out that way. Well sadly it doesnt always work out like my situation, but so long as there's life there's hope that things can get better, and the thing about a relationship is you've to work at it, really really hard.

That's a nice love story! It really happened not just to you but to others too. They would've said that they really didn't expect that the one meant for them is on their side. Friends who turned lovers is such a great way to make a relationship last.
