Surely the inventor would be more intelligent than the machine.

Also, the inventor can unplug the machine, so the inventor would have more power.

hey dude :D yeah, we can do that. The estimated hard disk capacity of man is 10^11 to 10^14 Bits (synapses, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuron ). A conventional computer hard disk has about 10^13 Bits nowadays. If we develop a CPU that's more complex than our own neural network and combine it with hdds then this should make a machine more intelligent than a human. Take digital cameras for example. Such a device already exceeds the performance of the human eye by far: a good DSLR camera can make 4000 shots/sec. while the human eye is only capable of 25 shots/sec. However, without a mind a machine will always stay a machine. And there's nothing that comes anything near the mind. A machine will always do what it's programmed to do while the mind can decide freely, it has a free will.

i don't think so guys. so far the best robot machine never able to upgrade the logical informations itself. that thing just can do what the programmer has wrote in the artificial intelligence's design, no more. otherwise our brain can upgrading (learning) any informations itself/automatically every single time so it make a real difference. have a nice day

I don't think i ever see a machine that was more intelligent than a human brain, because at least until this time machine always do what human told them to do. I'm not sure the raise of the machine will ever come true.

I think it is possible. Maybe not nowadays, with the technology that we have now, but we don't know what we are going to discover. For me it is possible if they do a machine that can learn, not a lot of intelligence since the beggining. It would work like our brain: we didn't born knowing a lot of things, but we learn it with time. So this machine can learn a lot of things too and become more intelligent than the brain if it does his own researches and join a lot of knowledge, different from us that have time just to specialize in some areas of the knowledge. The most difficult part is to make a machine that works like the brain. Let me explain: our brain works with parallel tasks, what makes it capable to do a lot of things at the same time, like: see, move, listen and other things. But the machines nowadays work in series, so they see, move and listen one at a time. We don't realize that because the speed that they do it is very high, but it stiil needs more time than the brain to do the same things. Happy mylotting.

i do not think it would be possible just yet for us to make a machine more intelligent then the human brain im sure once we make something like that we are one step closer to plasma weapons and possibly floating cars but japan plans to make an elevator to space but need a material for the wiring of the elevator since its gonna be going to space im sure they will figure it out and be the first possible people to make such a machine they are such genius people.
