Will AlertPay go out of business?

I tried to purchase some advertising at a site today that accepted only AlertPay as their payment processor. I couldn't complete the transaction because Alertpay no longer accepts credit cards. My guess is because of all the charge backs they were generating for credit card companies. Then I noticed the only way to add funds to your account is through bank wire or money order. That made me think of scammers and con artists because those are the primary methods of payments they accept. Do you think AlertPay can stay in business and compete with PayPal like this? Cheers, Stan

I hope they are not going out of business because I still have a couple of dollars there and I can't withdraw it. Having problems with my IBAN they said it is invalid. I already sent a support ticket but I still have not received anything from them. Honestly speaking I find alertpay a bit complicated and suspicious.

They had a serious problem with a former member of their executive staff and have been suspended by all major credit card operators. Their fees are high because they need to have a bank to guarantee their transactions. I explained this in a discussion started here a few months ago, but it has been deleted : I was giving the name of this ex-employee, he joined myLot and asked to remove it according to guidelines. I try to have the less money possible on my AlertPay account now, as I believe that they can effectively go out of business.

Now that is some very interesting information Topffer. I wish I had an opportunity to read your post before it was deleted. Do you know where AlertPay's home office is located?

AlertPay is still located in Montreal. A partial answer -- not giving the name of this guy -- explaining why credit cards operators suspended AP has been published last year by the Montreal Gazette : http://www.montrealgazette.com/AlertPay+Firm+alleged+provide+payments+questionable+goods/5763861/story.html

It can't be trusted 100% yet, i can't even make a bank transfer now when i want to withdraw my money in Alert pay, the method the website use to pay the account holder constantly changes, sometime you can withdraw by check, while other time you can transfer throgh wire only, while another time you need to have several bank accounts to do any bank transfer, it is quite complicated compare to Paypal..., all are designed to charge the account holder fee, fees and more fees with commission, it is getting greedy and ridiculous as far as i am concerned.

Alert Pay is not going out of business anytime soon, they charge much higher fee than Paypal and other payment processors, it is indeed quite difficult for them to be out of business in this manner. Unless every account holder and merchants opt out of this service provider and shift to Paypal or other better Online processors, which is unlikely to happen. I am not particularly infatuated with alertPay at all, i used its service is because the merchant only pay through them, if not, i always choose Paypal, it is a better one.

I have never been able to use a credit card at alertpay which I could not understand but now that I see they are having their own debit card I guess they want everyone to get and use theirs which may be the reason why they don't accept other credit cards. the bank wire/ money order thing is inconvenient and sometimes costly and I wish it were not like that but even when you link a bank account to them it still takes days to process. I am not sure why it's operated the way it is but I don't think they are about to go out of business anytime soon.

If Alertpay continues on making it difficult for its account holders to transact business, and if they don't lower their transfer fees and stuff, people would stop using their services. And so no clients, no business. It'll eventually close. Lately when I sign up for any earning site, the first thing that I look for is the payment processor that site uses. If it's only AlertPay, I don't sign up anymore.

It is still early for us to judge out about the future of this Alertpay. To be safe, I must try not to use this Alertpay. I dislike Alertpay very much because of it's high processing fee. For me, the only way I can withdraw my money from my Alertpay account is by Bank Wire with the processing fee of $15.00 USD. I withdrew all of my balance from this Alertpay once. Now, I still have some money which is not sufficient to cover the processing fee of $15.00 . To avoid paying such high processing fee, I am now trying to figure out those payment exchanger to transfer my money out. I think you can do the same too if you want to deposit money into your Alertpay account. However, we must ensure those payment transferring agents as Excahnger and so on are acceptable by the Alertpay. Else, our Alertpay account will be suspended.

That is such a shame. $15 to process a transfer? That's rediculous! No, I haven't used alertpay in a over a year and now I don't plan on utilizing them anymore in the future. A lot of businesses using Alertpay only will lose many customers for that reason.
