A young lady is doing a public service ad about college girls who cannot afford birth control pills.
It goes like this:
College girls today cannot afford birth control because it costs about $3000 a year. In her case and others who ALREADY HAVE THE PUBLIC PAYING FOR THEIR EDUCATION, the public needs to pick up the tab for the pill.
I have a real problem with picking up the tab for birth control for anyone - mainly because a bit of self control is what is needed. I really don't care if 'times have changed'. How a person gets pregnant has not. I really don't care if people are more promiscuous than they once were. If they insists on being so, then they should be equally responsible for providing their own protection.
I managed through my dating years to say the magic word "NO!" and I managed with this magic word to remain without child until I married and really wanted one, so please do not tell me it cannot be done.
Is there anyone out there who thinks it's your job to pick up the tab for education and birth control for students? Under what circumstances would you do it? Do you think if we do this we are making them less responsible later in life?

Over here Birth Control is free but more girls than ever (and that's what they are) are getting pregnant. Like you said, self-control isn't difficult. I should know!

Mind you, if you look at it from another angle. Unwanted pregnancies prevented..although no kids of mine would "do it" under my roof. Thank God I don't have any, they'd HATE me for being too strict!

How about anyone on the public dole for their education will lose it if they fool around? We could save a whole bunch on the pill and probably free education, too!
