If that push through I guess his fans would really be excited to see him act in the movies. Well, it's not the first time the film industry have done this. They use the popularity of athletes to attract the movie fans. Let's just see if this materializes.

Yeah, your right. Seeing him in the big screen will really give much excitement to his fans especially those in other countries who don't see him personally in the football arena.

ii..being an actor is ofcourse the ultimate fame quest" more higher than being a footballer or a sportsman..
besides..if ur 40years old..cant do much about sports but certainly can continue acting till very old age..just like Christopher Plummer..who just won oscar as best supporting actor..few nights back..

He sure got the looks; but I heard he does not really have the best speaking voice. He had some movie appearances before, but with a very minimum dialog. I wonder how much role will he have in the new movie; will it be just mostly actions?

It's more of just cameo appearances he made on a few movies about soccer where he was just being his own Beckham self; such movies are 'Bend It Like Beckham' and 'Goals'. So if this is true, it will be his first movie where he really has to act. Lately, he becomes more & more of a celebrity than a soccer player anyway; so perhaps he'll do well as an actor and I'm sure living in Hollywood would help a lot.

Hmmm... Tried looking up about this online and nothing definite yet about the 5th installment of Mission Impossible, and definitely nothing definite about David Beckham playing any role just yet. Tom Cruise may have thought that David could be an action star but nothing's set in stone yet about the sequel.
In fact, when I read about it, the director, Brad Bird, doesn't have any plans as of yet, since he said that he might need some holiday from the IMF world for now. With the success of the latest movie, it is almost a certainty that Bird will be back. Although your David and Tom theory sounds interesting, what I'm actually excited about is for Renner and Pegg to return to the next outing, if there will be one.
