The big LCD monitor is not as comfortable as I expected

Lately my husband and I exchanged computers. He uses my laptop and I use his little computer. Actually it shall be good for me as the computer is faster. However, I don't like the big LCD monitor. I said to my husband that it seems I can't see all things because it is big. I prefer to have a small LCD monitor. Anyway, I don't regard it as a TV set, so I don't need to have a big monitor.

Hi youless, I owned a big LCD monitor before as well. But I didn't feel comfortable watching movie or documentary on it. I had to sit rather far away from it and so the volume should be adjusted to rather higher too, so that I could hear the conversation or explanation clearly. If didn't do in this way I would feel dizzy and having headache later consequently 
But my elder brother loves big LCD monitor and he was really happy when the big LCD monitor was given to him.
I'm happy with my 14.1 in laptop LCD. It's so handy and comfortable either working on or watching movies and tv programs on the smaller screen

i did the same thingmbefore i got this laptop i had a smalller one and i loved it it had a great webcam on it and was small enought for me and i loved it, then i took it back becasue it did not have a cd rom and i need to download a thing for interent.. and i have really missed that little laptop it was so cute and perfect for my fingers, i have now gotten use to this one being bigger but it took me awhile and i grumbled alot about it lol..so now when we get ahead and i get some more money or my rich uncle gets out of the poor house, lol i will buy that little laptop for me and give this one to my husband.. he hated the other one lol
we never did have anythign in common it goes if i like it he hates it and vice versa everytime..

i guess this is true, it makes for intersting discussins lol.. he told me he dont want me anymore and too find someone else, so i startred talking to another guy yesterday online only AND TONOGHT I TOLD HIM ABOUT IT and i could tell he was a lil upset. i told him i loved him and did not want anyone else unless he still did not want me, and he never would say that he did not want me again.. so i think he still cares so there is still a little hope. i do love him.. he said we now dont have the money for a divorce.. lol i think he just changed his mind lol.. he knows i am way to good to him and he knows how much i love him io tell hinm daily, he use to tell me he did not love me, but not tonight.. i think i got huis attention and as for the other guy im not trying to use him.. i told my husband i was still gonna see him and go out unless he tells me he ,loves me. so we will see.. i do like this new guy alot, he is really nice.. and good looking as well.. so we will see.. wish me luck either way..

I would like a big screen LCD monitor for my computer because my eyesight isn't that good so a big screen would really make the images and words on the screen easier to see. Right now, I'm using a 17inches LCD monitor for my computer and I feel that it's quite small. I want a 24inches monitor. That would make it clearer for me to see.

It is because you have got used to the small LCD monitor. I don't know how big yours is,Mine is 17 inch LCD monitor,I like it.

The problem with a big LCD monitor is that the screen is so wide that we find it hard to see everything in the monitor. We still have to move our heads side to side. Another problem, is that you were not accustomed to it. Maybe you just have to use it from time to time for you to like and adapt the big LCD monitor.

I think it's justa matter of adaptation: it's strange and uncomfortable when it's new and you can't live without it once you are used to it. I used to have a 14" scree on my pc. When I got a 17" I thought "wow... that's almost too big!" Years later I got a 19" and it was about the same feeling. Today I have a laptop with a 15,6" and it's ok even though it seemed small at the beginning.

Oh I see, I haven't tried a big monitor for I am only using my laptop since then. But with your experience, I guess it is really hard to spot all the corners of the screen for its too big. Whereas if we are using the smaller one we can almost see everything even when our eyes is in only one direction.

Just like any individuals, you are used to certain things. I am somewhat the opposite of you. I would adore something big and bigger.
I bought my first desktop back in 2004. I also bought a 19 inch LCD monitor separately. In 2010, I had my first netbook (my first experience with portable computer). When my desktop became out or order, I started hooking up my netbook to my 19 inch LCD so I can get better view. For those of you who don't know the difference, netbook is a small laptop with display screen around 13 inch. The 19 inch display helps me see a bigger picture without having to scroll down a lot. That netbook last about a year since I probably overused it. Since then, I have a new notebook (display screen around 15 inch+) and I also hook it up to my LCD monitor back and forth.
I would love to have a fancy iMac, the one with 27 inch monitor. Nowadays, you can watch movies, TV shows, and any entertainment. 15 inch display is ok if your display is WIDE.

I also prefer small size monitor. Because it's to comfortable for me, if we watch more movies in there then only it need like Big screen. Monitor is not fix it performance, it's CPU and RAM is going to fix that Lol. I am using notebook Laptop only it's very small screen it's enough for me.

I do like the LCD monitor :) My dad has one and he also has tv channels fixed in there and watches tv when mom is hooked on with her dramas in out Tv hehe wel to me it's fine and I think watching movies on the LCD monitor is a lot of fun.

actually, for me, a smaller monitor is better than a big monitor. in the house i have only a LCD monitor which is i think 10-12inches only. it is quite small for others point of view, but it is more comfortable for me. for me, big LCD monitors are only to those users who sits in front of the computer 1 meter away. LOL. :)

I think big monitors are mainly used for watching videos and for graphics. May be you can use it to watch movies and television channels through TV tuner cards. I think some people like big movies. Another thing you can do is to have a big table and to push the monitor backwards. This will help you to to adjust to the big monitor. I have not used laptops except one or two times. I hope to buy a laptop in the future and saving money for it. I think people who use laptops continuously prefers laptops than to desktops.

The thing is that for every dimension there is a recommended distance to sit from the monitor.
For example for a 17 inch monitor, recommended is 50cm, for 19 inch recommended is 70cm, so you can see why for a big LCD which probably means 23 or above, you could actually consider it a television at least for the distance needed to avoid personal injury if none other.

Hmmm my husband also exchanged the monitor and we are lucky because our Dell monitor was 18 inch LCD but Dell send us 22 inch LED monitor because LCD is not available there. Ohhh God big LCD monitor is good why you want to change we can open more tabs at a time and can see clear.

It can actually not be a good choice if your working for something. It's only good when you use it to watch a movie.
