I received a call at work last week. It was a little bit funny or maybe really funny. She was so mad at our security process. Since we are a financial company, every time a cardholder calls us, we do security verification to make sure that they truly the owner of the account they are calling about. I belong to the Escalations Department wherein calls that cannot be handled by Tier 1 representatives will be escalated to our department. Every time a call is transferred especially if it is a cold transfer - it means a representative will just transfer a call without informing the next representative what happen why the call is being transferred. Mostly we do cold transfer if there are too many calls waiting. Anyway, she was transferred to our department and I was the one who received the transfer. Before she provided her card number, she said "I hope I'm not gonna provide my bra size just to activate this little card"! Of course, I could not help it. I pressed the mute button and laughed. I actually understood her feelings then. She spend how many hours waiting just to activate her card. At the end, I was able to activate her card. That was a very unforgettable call that I had received in my whole life. Hope you like the story.

That was a pretty funny comment from the customer. I had some funny calls before, too. The customer was on a subscription and he was being charged every month. He was irrate when I handled it. He asked for a refund and I obliged, but he was still angry. He said something like "I hope you guys can sleep at night." and I said "Yeah, we do, actually. All we have to do is close your eyes." The call wasn't recorded so it was all good. I could have been fired because of that.

It can get very aggravating being put on hold and then to have so many problems after you talk to a representative. I think what she said is funny. I am so glad you put her on hold before you laughed. I am sure she was very happy that you were able to successfully activate her card. I use to work in a call center and I just did not like it. It was a real pain in the rump for me. You have lots of courage.

That's funny but I have to agree, sometimes you feel like that when you get asked a million questions for verification. Although sometimes I wonder if your asking me all these questions allot of them people I know would know how to answer, how do you know if it's really me?
