Did people in the past keep in contact in the same ways as they do today?

People who around me contact others in different ways today compared to they did in the past. My father contacted people by writing letters many years ago. Then we had a fixed telephone twenty years ago and we began to use it to contact others. About fifteen years ago, my mom had got a beeper and it helped her to keep in touch with people. We had cellphones ten years ago and it became more convenient for us to contact each other. Nowadays, internet plays a important role in our lives and it helps us a lot in communicating. We have plenty of choices now compared to the past.

Absolutely, back when our parents were younger they didn't have cell phones there was one phone and if you could afford it you had one in your homes. I remember growing up and that's we had for a long time, then came the age of the cell phones although it took a while to catch on eventually it did, today so many people have cell phones and allot of people have disconnected their home lines in exchange for having a cell phone with the ability to be reached everywhere. There are allot more ways to reach people nowadays than years ago, definately!

communication has improved a lot past decade or so...i have seen all my cousinns and relatives are on some socail networking site and it has become more easier to trace them and get updated abt their life and convey wishes. our parents used to have the post man the only way to stay updated on family matters...it was for sure not so fast and was more tediuos as well to jot down things on daily matters to everyone family members.
