Friends... Would you ever argue with a doctor? Doctors, though may have studied more than 8 years but this still doesnt mean that they are infallible right. Have you tried arguing with a doctor? Or have you seen any patient argue with a doctor?

Hello friend, I have seen patients arguing with doctors but that is more out of frustration rather than anything else. Personally, I would never argue with a doctor. If at all I have a doubt in his ways, I would politely ask him to reconsider the treatment but argument would be bad, as it won't serve any purpose. After all, the doctor is much more qualified than you are and if you don't want to listen to him, why go to him in the first place?

I never argue with a doctor. But I saw many patients and their family members argued with doctors. Primary care patients' sketchy; discrimination physicians with patients rich and poor retraining doctors demanding money etc. ..

Actually I recently have had a minor arguement with one of my doctors. A few years back I was diagnosed with endometrosis, in which they removed a large portion of it and in order to keep it under control I had to take birth control pills. Unfortunately my body doesn't do well with what these medications contain, because they would give me really bad migrane headaches, so the doctor took me out of it. But now I am starting to expereince the same pain and I am back on pain meds which I hate to take, so my doctor has found an alternative to surgery which is fine, but it seem to be taking for ever to get approved, and all this time I have been on pain meds. My hubby and I have been arguing with him that we want to have surgery but he wants us to try this alternative first. I just want this pain to be over with. These pain meds, make me edgy, groogy and I don't stop eating.

I don't want to argue because I respect doctors, but if I had to I would. I have no doubt that doctors do their best to help patients to get better, but it's also true that they get money for prescribing a medicine. Doctors sometimes ignore some symptoms or complaints, and it's not always their fault - I know because I've been misdiagnosed and mistreated quite badly. So yes I can imagine that I would argue if I wasn't checked properly, or I would just get a second opinion.

Hi, I would not argue with a doctor. If I don't agree with them, I might just get a second opinion. People forget that doctors are human. Doctors are not perfect. All doctors can do is their best. Have a great day!

I never argued with a doctor,I don't think I can.I haven't been a patient in a very long time, I can't even remember when I was last admitted or had a check up. Anyway, I think that I would only argue on things that I know are not generally right or right by me.

It is true that doctors can sometimes make mistakes. After all, they are only human, just like everyone else. However, I haven't really argued with my doctor, mainly because I haven't felt the need to do so. I also happen to trust her judgment. If I ever had doubts, then I may question it. If I felt the need, I may go seek a second opinion. However, as I have mentioned, I haven't felt the need to do so.

I agree with you that no doctor can claim that he's incapable of making mistakes. Most of them wouldn't admit that though. Yet, I can't say I had argued with a doctor since I don't have any basis of doing it. I mean, I have very limited knowledge of medicine so I wouldn't know if what the doctor is saying is right or wrong. I do however make clarifications especially if the medicine prescribed costs a lot. I haven't seen anyone argue with their doctors, too.

There´s no infallible human being. So I don´t know why you should not argue with a doctor. But as I do, if I notice that the discussion will not lead to a good ending, I find another doctor. After all, it´s my body and my life.

When it comes to health, the doctors knows best. When in doubt regarding prognosis or diagnosis, there is always the option of a second or third opinion. Sometimes there are cases when mistakes are committed proving them infallible, and that is why, as above is the best option. For your best interest, go for the best doctors you can find or referred to.

I haven't experienced that but only on TV that there are people who are arguing with the doctor. Sometimes there are people who are expecting the doctors that they can make miracles like magicians. Oh come on!!!!!! If it is needed to argue with well maybe I can do so but if I believe that a doctor is credible enough then probably of course I would just take her advises. It depends on the doctor especially on how she communicates.

Doctors should work in a synergistic way with the patient combining the knowledge of the patient with the knowledge of the doctor for a positive outcome. The doctor is your paid employee and you are paying him for his professional knowledge. What you are not paying for is a demeaning god-like attitude. It is your body. If the doctor is unwilling to respect you and listen you it is time to move on. To answer the question, I would argue with a doctor if I felt that my health or the health of a loved one was in jeopardy based on his decision.
