I did a survey today and they asked questions about Mariah Carey being Jenny Craig's new spokesperson. I don't agree that she is the person for the job because as a person who needs to lose weight, I can't relate to her because she doesn't need to lose weight and besides those weight loss programs cost money and for people like her they can afford it plus trainers and cooks and diet experts and so on. I don't think Mariah Carey has a weight problem and if she does, she can afford to hire a lot of help and easily take off the weight whereas a person like me has to go it alone. I don't worry too much because I do try to eat healthy and exercise, a little. Your thoughts, My Lot, friends!

i agree with i dont think that mariah carey is ideal for this role because as you say if we all paid hundreds of dollars on diet pills and personal trainers we would all look in great shape.

I have a hard time relating to any celebrities as spokespeople for weight loss programs. Like you, I tend to believe that they have more money, can devote MUCH more of their day to exercise, food, etc., and they aren't really "going it alone," as you said. I've often thought if I had someone preparing my meals for me, running my errands, taking care of my family, then I could be more selfish and spend all my time just on myself. But, that isn't realistic. Many celebs say they don't have help and they do everything for themselves... but I think at the level of, say, Mariah Carey, that's probably untrue. If nothing else, with the money they've earned, they can certainly pay for all their meals to be pre-made for them... so no thought process behind the weight loss, just eat what is ready.
