Need to label horse picture for Zazzle. How would you tag it.

Brown Horse I Saw in Los Alamos - This seemed to be a friendly horse who was eager to pose for me.

I know very little about horses, except this seems to be a fine horse. I need to tag it for Zazzle, and I'd like to say more than horse, brown horse, horse walking. Anyone got any ideas for tags other than these to describe this horse? Would you call it walking or trotting? Would you classify it as draft, gaited, rare, western performance, or Spanish? I'm depending on you horse people to help me.

Usually I don't have any problems. But in your discussion there's a little icon where your picture should show up. It won't even work if I go to your profile. I think it might have something to do with my computer, it's a mac and sometimes has issues opening certain types of files.

Bummer. Can you normally see the pictures?

I can see it now! It's definitely not gaited or a performance horse. My best guess is that he's a mix with quarter horse and probably something else because he's so stocky and has a big head.

" Brown horse out for a afternoon stroll" That is my suggestion. What a lovely picture.

That's a good description, but I should also to to figure out which of those sub categories under horse he is. If he is a he. I don't even know that, since I mostly saw his head. He was so funny. He was a camera hog. There was a ram in the other side of his pen. When he saw me aiming the camera that way, he quickly moved into the camera so I wouldn't shoot the sheep. And not just once!

Hes a brown western colt or maybe just a bit past the colt stage, not that I know much about horse breeds. I know he is not Arabian nor draft,he is showing off so he is young walking not trotting nor is he spanish either. He may be gaited not sure.I am not much help although my first twenty some years I did live on a farm lol lol.

Western would make sense, since he lives in Los Alamos, which is between Santa Barbara and Santa Maria, closer to Santa Maria. The house of his owner wasn't large, and probably wasn't a farm. He was probably owned by someone who liked to ride and only had one horse -- and a ram. He was sure big for a colt!

Well, even though I live right in the middle of horse country, Lexington, Kentucky, I haven't had the opportunity in my life to learn a lot about horses. However, I think that if I was working on tagging that particular picture (which is beautiful, by the way), I think that I would tag it as horse walking and I would also be sure to mention the location where the picture was taken as well. Once again, beautiful picture.

Wow, you really do live in horse country. I live in a rural area where many people own horses, but I haven't met many of them. I think I titled it Brown Horse Walking in Los Alamos.

Well, if you're looking for tags then I have a few for you to use. Try these, Gallop, Trotting, Ranch, Pasture. If you're looking for sayings how about, home on the range. The horse is good looking. And I also cannot tell is it is a make or female. But I don't think that matters much. Well, I hope these help you.

Okay then, why not just use Homestead. Thats sounds real nice.

Thanks for your input. I shall consider all of those. This horse looked more like it lived more as a pet to ride rather than on a real ranch. Not much property was around it, and it appeared to be a residential area that allowed farm animals for one's own use -- more like a homestead. It was a great area to ride in, though.
