I have tried now several times to upload pictures. I do know that I am doing it correctly. But for some reason, they just won't upload to myLot. Any clues as to why not? I thank you now for any assistance you might be.

First of all, read ALL of this page: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq10.aspx , then read the Photo Guidelines: http://www.mylot.com/o/photoguidelines.aspx You should be able to upload pictures to your profile, to Interests and to illustrate any discussion you start, regardless of your User Rating. You can only add images to responses and comments once you reach a User Rating of 500. The most common problems are that: a) The server limit has been reached for that day b) The size of the file is too large (the images produced by many cameras will need resizing before to try to upload) c) The format is incorrect. Images should be .JPG or .GIF (and I believe .PNG is also accepted, but I am not certain).

Thank you so much! I did look around for faq, didn't find it. So I figured I would just go ahead and start a discussion. Your help was excellent!

That is incorrect. There is no User Rating restriction on uploading pictures to profile, Interests or discussions. You need a User Rating of 500 to be able to add images to responses and comments.
