Is President Obama the Beast of revelations?

United States
March 7, 2012 10:40pm CST
Many people have been taught through movies and church that a ruler will come on the scene and he will fulfill the beast of revelations. While it is possible, the thing most people don't know is that the beast of revelations is not one but two. Popular movies like Omen and Catholic teachings have gotten many to ignore this fact. I also think there is a direct correlation between the book of revelations and Daniel chapter 7-8 where it uses the same type of terminology. My reasoning in this is that Daniel was told this was not only a prophetic vision of that time but of the end of times. This would mean that the Beast(s) are not men at all but they are Nations/forms of control or Monarchy. This would also mean that the literal translation of 3 1/2 years the beast will rule could mean that each day is a year. This would be (Hebrew calendar) 360 X 3.5 = 1260 years. But never the less if it does mean a ruler and not a form of government or nation we won't have long to wait. In fact on July 20th of this year it will be Obama's 3.5 year mark. This coincidentally it's also the first day of Ramadan for Muslims. If you are one of those who thinks Obama is the Beast of revelations and July 20th comes and goes will you continue to believe that he is still the beast of revelations or will you repent your sins that day?

No, I do not believe in such superstitious things. Obama is just another jerk politician who happens to be black. You can add, multiply and subtract all sorts of numbers that could convince some people of anything, but they're just numbers. I also don't believe in sin in the same way as taught in the Christian doctrine. Nothing happened on May 21, 1988. Nothing happened on October 28, 1992. Nothing happened on September 6, 1994. Nothing happened on Y2k, or 06/06/06, or May 21 2011. And I'm fairly certain that I will also survive December 21 2012. The world keeps not ending and people keep freaking out. It's pretty idiotic if you ask me. If a person is a good Christian, then they have nothing to fear because God will take care of them. This is why it is so ironic and laughable to me that it's the Christians who are mainly freaking out about these silly predictions. Bad things happen. Oppressive governments have been around since governments have been established. The thing is, eventually they push too far and the people fight back. Freedom is natural and inevitable. Absolute control will never happen and those who try to enslave the people will fail. It doesn't mean that there has to be some mystical war going on. It's just the struggle that has always been in the world. It just takes different forms as society changes.

My personal interpretation is that it will be a man, and yes, he has a sidekick who is known as the False prophet in some circles. Someone who will decieve and then force worship of the Beast, or antichrist as he has come to be known. There is a statue made of him, he suffers a head wound of which he recovers from miraculously, that tells me he is a man. There is even evidence in other prophecies that his lineage is traceable if you dig deep enough in your studies.

Barack Hussein Obama! Three names, 18 letters, divided by 3 = 6, so 6+6+6 ... 666! Plus there's this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqALdkTArqs It's him!

Well i think that is an answer to your church statements that the Pope is the beast. And it`s funny to see they have found this answer, if you do the maths that name really is 666.Well if you ask me i don`t think either the pope or Ellen White or Obama are the beast. They or some of them can be the slaves of the beast but not the beast.

lol...I wonder. Revelation is NOT about the end of the world. It's about God's judgment ON the world.

Yes, armageddon-Christ returns to smite the wiked-millenial reign of Christ over the nations-final rebellion of mankind-Final Judgment-new heaven/new earth. That's how I learned it too. I mean, there is so much more to think about and get ready for than worry about who the beast is, don't you think?

Very interesting discussion, EvanHunter. No, the beast of Revelation is not THAT guy. It just so happens that it has already been fulfilled. It took place in the first century A.D. The Roman empire was the beast, and It was the same empire that Yashua stood in front of. After Acts 1:9 you only need to read Daniel 7:13 and 14. He ascended to heaven, and went to the Ancient of days by a cloud, and the Ancient of days gave him a kingdom that would never be destroyed. The destruction of Jerusalem happened because of the rejection of the Messiah 40 years later to fulfill the Exodus of Israel in the wilderness. After they wandered for 40 years, they received to promised land. It was fulfilled with Yashua and then 40 years later, Yashua "came" back to destroy Jerusalem by the hand of Titus. On the exact same day 560 years later. So, The vision of Daniel of the 4 beasts and the fourth one worse than the others, was the Romans at the time of Yashua. Read the book by Josephus, and you will see some very awesome things.. I hope that you have a great day my friend. :) :)

So, all of Revelation is to be spiritualized and not taken literally? Who issued the edict against buying and selling? Who suffer the mortal head wound and recovered? So many things don't fit in this interpretation Codyman. I'd like to know more so I can research it. Thanks.

I've read Josephus. I have studied Hebrew and the history of the Jewish people. I know Jews, in fact my step grandfather was Jewish. I've read the ancient history and the history of the Dispora. I am VERY familiar with the modern history of the Return. There is so much more to this than what even you know. And I admire that you know so much and yet, I cannot agree wholeheartedly with your interpretation. Not to say that you are entirely wrong in my opinion. Have you ever spoke with a Messianic Jew? They will differ from most Christian eschatologists. Even all Christians do not agree on all points of this Book of Revelation. There is a danger in spiritualizing away the plain words of God. Dig deeper my friend. There's more to the story. Though I must admit, you ARE well on your way and know more than most. It is a lifetime endeavor. I am not professing to know it all or know the exact interpretation of this deep deep book. I find it exciting to hear when someone is interested enough to know as much as you do. I would discuss it further. I will try and find time to research the net for sites that teach on this and hopefully you will do the same for me.

Strange that Muhammad, of all people, should have failed to recognize that Antichrist is the Pope, was the Pope in his time, and will be the Pope until Christ comes to destroy him with the brightness of His coming.

Very interesting discussion! I don't believe that Obama is the Beast for several reasons. One is that, as you said, the Beast could be a coalition of nations. Another, if it is a "human being" is that Obama isn't charismatic enough to have enough followers. Your math is interesting. I'm going to copy your post off and keep it at hand. If anything happens on July 20th, it will no doubt be behind closed doors, at least at first, so it may not be as simple as it sounds. Also, the coalition may be a rational, logical outcome of some problem... economical? Many Biblical prophesies seem to be fulfilled in low key ways that sometimes can only be seen in retrospect.

The people who believe Obama is the antichrist or some beast remind me of the mom from Waterboy. "Bobby, that woman is the debil! Foosball is the debil! College is the debil!" I respect beliefs, even though I'm not religious, but if someone thinks the President of the United States of America is some unholy demon, I have every right to think they're nutso. An obligation even.

He can be evil and not be the antichrist, as far as I am concerned. I don't go along with even trying to conjecture who it will be. I do go along with holding our leaders to a high standard. Obama misses the 'mark' there.

No Obama is not the antichrist of Revelation, but anyone who speaks against Jesus is an antichrist.

That is what is said in the epistles. The text says there will be many who speak against Christ. That is the apostasy that lotterylover speaks of. I know many Catholics, I was born one. Raised as one. There are many who truly love Christ and seek to serve Him in the Catholic church. God looks at the heart, not the building we frequent. I do not agree with all the doctrines of the Catholic church, but I stand by ANYONE who sincerely seeks to do God's will. I will debate doctrine with them, ask my brothers. lol But I do not doubt their sincerity. Only God knows their hearts. Threre are apsotates in every denomination. No one sect has the ultimate truth and not all who call themselves Christian will be acknowledged by Christ. I try to be very careful when I speak my opinions. If there is any possibility that I am not right, I make sure to say it is only my opinion. Unfortunately, not all Bible teachers do this. I think the best way to teach is to encourage individual study along with group study. The Holy Spirit is the only trusted teacher of God's word. And when we come together to study, we reaffirm by numbers what the Holy Spirit is teaching.

I doubt it since there are men more powerful than he is such as Prime Minister of Russia and President of China.
