I just gt a call from my friend telling me that she lost her Blackberry this afternoon on her way to restaurant. I tell her that I received a text not long this afternoon from unknown number telling that my friend's mobile may have been lost and now using new sim card in it. Luckyly, few months ago, when she just bought that "lost mobile" I dowloaded an application called NETQIN into her mobile. Its antivirus and has anti=lost service too. I set the NETQIN aplication, just in case, to text me if someday she lost her mobile AGAIN (this is the 2nd she lost her BB). How NETQIN send me text? well I sign my number as the resporting number for her mobile, NETQIN will send me SMS if some1 change the simcard (number) from that mobile with new 1. NETQIN automatically will send me the report/ alert SMS using the new number (thief/ some1 who found) replace of the old number (my friends number). It will appear in my inbox that I receive a text from random number with message like this: [this is an auto message sent by NetQin Anti-lost application] [please DO NOT DELETE] your friend's phone might be stolen and the sim card has been changed. :D we're trying to get the phone back, cos she need the contact in that mobile. WISH US GOODLUCK

wow that is a good technology. i would suggest though to just let it go. maybe you can just send that number a message just to let him know that you know his number and whereabouts to see if he would reply or confirm anything. im sure it will scare him :D hehe

Blackberries also come with blackberry protect. So she would have been able to see where her phone was if she checked their website. She could also have locked her phone from their website or set an alarm off on it.

Sad to hear that,it is really hard to lost a phone especially the contact that you really needed and of course the money that you used to buy it is wasted. I do hope that the application that you have installed work so that the phone could get back.
