Well ! Today Rahul Dravide Officily Launch her retirement from All form of cricket, no doubt he is one of the best batsman as ever indian team have... But also their is some difference with rahul and kallis... Well rahul dravid no doubt played as well in india as outside the india, but whenever the team situation demand they have not perform upto the mark means some time he bats so slow as the team chance of win that match gona in river... On the other hand kallis bat a batsman and bowler he is for S.A. whenever he played while it is one day or test he single hardly win the match for team.. So who you prefer the most successful batsman in all of above.. No doubt all two batsman has marvelous technique of play and whenever they play bowler has less chance to out them...

I J.Kallis is better than Dravid as a batsman itself, as Kallis is a great allrounder too. We can expect a lot runs more from Kallis to the credit of total of individual runs, where Dravid is at a better position at present.

Jack Kallis is a good all round and Dravid is a good classic batsman in my opinion, but both are very good players.

@ ajithlal, No doubt Dravid is a classic batsman. But J Kallis too is a good classic batsman. Let see some comparisons. R Dravid J Kallis No of Tests/ODI - 164/344 115/319 Total runs " - 13288/10889 12367/11481 Average " - 52.31/39.16 57.02/45.55 100s " - 36/12 42/17 Best " - 270/153 224/139 I think these records show a bit better performance of J Kallis than R Dravid, especially in ODIs.

I really like your discussion and the comparison you make between two technically very sound batsmen.I differ with you when you say the two haven't performed up to the mark,I hold the firm opinion that it was Kallis who single handed rallied the South African team around him in the final test against India and thwarted the Indian bowlers from gaining ascendancy.Similarly, Dravid was the only Successful batsman against England when the conditions were favorable to the English bowlers.I think both are invaluable to their teams and have made an indelible mark on World cricket.Kallis had an edge over Dravid in that he could bowl well and take a few wickets that turned the game in South Africa's favor. On the other hand, Dravid was an excellent slip fielder.Dravid's reflexes probably have slowed with age.But one has to consider Dravid's performance when he was younger. He,I feel was treated badly as far as one day matches are concerned.I have seen several wonderful Rahul Dravid innings in one days.It will be quite hard if not impossible to replace Dravid.I consider him and Sunil Gavaskar to be India's finest technically correct batsmen.

I say that dravid performance not upto the mark as compare to their kallis who have single handily win to much match for his team.. While i see kallis performance in indian soul is so good as compare to any other batsman, no doubt whenever S.A. team play in indian their performance is outstanding as compare to india team, but of their performance Kallis makes a huge role...

Both are greats in their individual capacities.Rahul is a more perfect batsmen than Kallis. But Kallis being an all rounder is an exceptional talent. I would place Kallis ahead of Rahul for the sole reason that Kallis does one thing more than Rahul and he has proved it beyond doubt as one of the games greatest all rounders

I also think Rahul Dravid is a perfect batsman and Jack Kallis is the perfect all rounder.

Both of them are great players, but when talking about only bating definitely I will vote in favor of dravid. Kallis is one of the best all-rounders and of-course a great bat. Dravid is a text book of cricket, he is the true spirit of cricket with his gentlemen behavior. He was always under the shadows of some one like sachin and did not have his share of respect he deserves.

I didnot see any thing wrong regarding behaviour of kallis in field and they also play her game as a gentlemen spirit, but kallis is more gain above dravid is because of his all rounder performance for his team which will create huge difference between rahul dravid...

Rahul Dravid was one of the most successful batsmen. He is the wall for India for more than 20 years in all forms of the game ( I don't count T-20 as cricket). You can also compare his performance in terms of records he holds. He is a good leader as well whereas Jacque Kallis is nowhere near the stature of Great Rahul Dravid. No doubt about his capabilities as both opening batsmen and good medium pace bowler but you cant compare him with the GREAT WALL.

I think Rahul Dravid is one of the best classic batsman. I also like Jack Kallis. The good thing about Rahul Dravid is his ability to stay in the crease with lots of patience and his class in batting. I think Rahul has won lots of matches for team India. I think Kallis has also won lots of matches as allrounder both batting and bowling. For me the best classic batsman is Rahul Dravid.

Well No doubt dravid is classic batsman and whenever he stay the crease bowler had less chance to out him, but it will made dravid some time go his own class of bating and play by slow as fans and team expected from him and it will difficult to win the match for team, on the other hand kallis has same technique like dravid but he has perform with face the inning from slow to fast and win more match than dravid win for india..

In my view, both batsman are the most respected cricketer as well as best batsman in the world. Rahul dravid had played many inning which is impossible to forget, in every part of the world he had done better that is why he is being called as "The wall" of Indian team. On the other hand Jacque kallis is best Test allrounder batsman, the world will ever have. They are the heroes of their own nation and will be remember for their contribution to cricket.

I think rahul is better than kallis in technique, but kallis has one advantage,he is a superb bowler too.In fielding, both are world class slip fielders, but i give kallis some extra marks for this,he is more solid than dravid. The entire indian cricket fans will miss rahul for his contribution on team india.Mr.dependable is no longer with our test squad now,we all miss you rahul.

I rate Rahul Dravid as a more clasical batsman than Jaques kallis. But Kallis is a complete package for a team. He is a real asset in the team. He can bat and also ball his full quota of overs
