Some countries gives higher pay to dirty jobs compared to people working at office. While other countries also, do the opposite. What job do you think deserves to receive the bigger pay rate? Why do countries have differences in job pay? Share your thoughts.

hi, i think those having higher wage are those who are working at office it because employer depending on the education level had finish of their employer, the more higher level of education the more wage for that.so for me its true that education is really important because this will affect the future life of a person.

Actually, it's a norm for all countries to have that. But when you look at it closer, a company could not operate without those rank and files. Well, I agree with the higher the position the higher the pay but I think the difference of pay should not be that big. From the companies that I worked on, the difference between the lowest and highest rank pay is almost or more than 20 times, which I think should not be.

A dirty job means working with stuff that grosses most people out like garbage collector, toilet cleaner, sewer inspector, etc.

In general, most of the dirty jobs are physical jobs while most of the office jobs are mental and intelligent jobs. Therefore, the paid should relate to the experienced and education background, which means not everyone is capable of doing the office jobs while the dirty jobs are much easier for people to learn and achieve. However this is not absolutely right. Some dirty jobs also need skilled workers, like plumber, electrician and architecture and so on. After all, the people who have experiences, skill and education will naturally get better paid. This is common sense. Every countries will definitely have different job pay, this totally depends on his currency, economize status and the job market demands etc. It is very difficult to compare across the countries.

You are right Madonna. But the difference of pay is big and looking on its significance/importance, both are almost the same. I don't know when did the job evaluation in terms of pay started and how did they come up with the decision.

some societies put more value to the work of some professions. they calculate the value based on difficulty, demand, and expertise. i agree with this kind of calculation. dirty jobs are not easy, and they should be compensated well for its level of difficulty. office jobs may not be difficult, but some sensitive information may be at risk if one is not careful. so it depends.

Ha ha, it seems like in the US, where I live, all the 'dirty' jobs are the ones that pay the least and that no one wants to do. If only the really easy jobs were the ones that got paid the least, instead of what seems like the opposite way around...

Correct, or maybe, the pay should at least be same or should not be the lowest. Dirty jobs are really hard to do.

I think everyone who works hard should be well payed. I can agree that dirty jobs carry more risk to health, though I can't say that all office works are safe. I used to work in an office and carried as much weight as if i was working in a factory, but i agree that there are jobs which are physically very tiring and should be well payed. I think those deserve the highest pay who are responsible for the safety of others.

I definitely agree with you on the last one, "safety" should get the highest pay. It's already a norm that rank and file people always get the lesser pay and high ranking people get the higher pay. The difference? most of it is huge and I think it should not be. A company could not run without rank and files and is the same to those with higher ranks.

I think job salaries and wages are based on the minimum wage of the area or city since this all differ depending on the cost of living in specific areas. There are of course special cases, but mostly this are probably based on laws so as to set a standard.

I think it's normal if nobody wants to do the job or it's bad for you health or the job is at hours it's common to sleep or have a holiday you get payed more. I also think that there should be payed for experiences. Why there are these differences I don't know. i quess I find it normal because I am raised that way and used it is that way?

I think the pay also depends on its employer. Comparing a certain type of job which is common to all companies have different pays. Why they are different? I also would like to know that one, maybe the sales matter. I also think it's not a matter of how big the salary is, I think it's a matter of how we love our work.

Teachers, policemen, paramedics and firemen should make WAAY more money. Actors and athletes need to make WAAAAAAAAAY less. It is stupid how much actors make.

I don't know how people evaluate one's job and its corresponding pay. I think, the one whose work has bigger impact to us and environment should have bigger salary pay. :)
