There are two aspects to this. First of all both these clubs are disappointed to be in Europa League instead of the real deal (?) the Champions League. So both teams put in not their usual first team on the field. Then they when the opposition started hurting them, they started putting the players in, but it was already too late. But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, I still expect both these clubs to win the return leg. Cheers! Ram

I think he will deliver the EPL trophy this year to Sheikh Mansour. But as I said, I still think in the second leg, Man City will most probably win this match and continue their progress in the Europa League. The same holds good for Man United as well. Cheers! Ram

I suppose they tried there best but on the night they were out classed by better teams. Manchester united and Manchester city perform well week in and week out so maybe they just had a bad day. Bayer Leverkausen lost very badly to Barcelona they other night it doesnt make them a bad team of the back of one bad result.

i had predicted that City will be beaten in lisbon home but i never expect that MU will be lost in old trafold Bilbao and Manuel bielsa had showed that they can be for it

Thats what the champions league is all about, hopefully everyteam is up for it. But on there day there is no team that it is unbeatable even Manchester united at home. Remember when Wimbledon beat Liverpool in 1988 on their day anybody is capable of beating anybody

Man City looks like a fatigue team at the moment. Gone were the early season energy level. This reflect their recent form both in domestically and in europe. As for Man Utd, I just got the feeling the players ain't exactly interested in the Europa league.

yes...they are not ready to be competitive with MU..they had short breath for racing with MU.. and City looks so fatique and tired i think Mancini need a player like Gigs, Scholes and Ferdinand in his team.. unfortunatelly, he did not get that player like that in his team

Man united would be able to recover from that loss but not man city. Man united has all the necessary experience playing in europe and they are able to cope well with the pressure. Though man united has lost at home to bilbao, they have nothing to lose. With that loss, they are now on top of the premier league, replace Man city. Pressure is on Man city to perform and should they crash out from europa league, they would lose all motivation to perform well in the league too.

yes..i think city began to be panic even Mancini said and believe that they can take over in the end of season, i just believe that this is the mistake from Mancini and city... i believe this season is belongs to MU

They finally got eliminated from Europa League. Many would say that those two Manchester teams didn't like to be in the '2nd class' championship of Europe. But in my opinion, those two aren't just good enough to compete in Europe level this season. They're getting eliminated from Champions League is a good prove of that. Competing in regional competition are indeed a different level with those domestic competition. Well, just hoping next season they will get stronger and could get a more competitive teams in Europe.

yes, of course MU is still stronger the next season but maybe they must anticipated for replacing the role of scholes and ryan gigs.. maybe this is the last season of scholes.. and gigs role must be replaced with good by Luis nani, or maybe antonio valancia.. sometimes i think MU still need a good winger even now their winger is satisfied sir Alex.. sometimes iam confused whats happen with MU, so they can not beat Bilbao.. it does not mean i underestimate Bilbao maybe because MU name is bigger than Bilbao.. but we maybe forgot that there are good coach behind the good performance of Bilbao..
