What TV shows do you wish were not cancelled?

I am a sci fi person so a lot of my shows would be sci fi shows. I felt SG:Universe ended without a real ending. Star Trek Enterprise could have gone on longer and left some questions unanswered, plus the last show was rather cobbled together. Life was another show that ended without answering questions. Monk had a long run, but it would be great to see Tony Shaloub in some new shows. What shows do you wish weren't cancelled or that were brought back?

There's only one show that still makes me cry for ending: firefly. It combined cowboys, smugglers and psychics in space. That show had everything to make someone remember all the cool stuff from one's childhood. It was cancelled after the first season, but it was really good :D.

Firefly was another great show that had the misfortune of starting on Fox. Fox has started a number of sci fi like shows only to kill them early. They did make a movie to conclude the show. When it comes to cowboy-like sci fi, The Adventures of Briscoe County Jr. was another favorite of my, that was shown and killed off by Fox. Once Briscoe killed off Blye the show lost a bit but we still never found out about the spheres and how Briscoe time traveled. John Astin was also funny as the professor.

After reading just the title I was on my way here to respond: SGU.. But I see you also are missing it... I am So beyond ticked with SYFY and what they have done.. I would have wanted more of that and SGA. I Also miss MOONLIGHT terribly.. That show was another awesome one that was cut down in it's prime with many unanswered questions. And Now I just learned of another... TERRA NOVA- I started watching it because I had a hole where SGU was in my heart... and This show was pretty good.. Not the same By any means.. but it had some sci fi I could enjoy... and then least week they announced that it would not be coming back.. this is even after it's won some awards already... Really getting sick of these big corporations making stupid decisions!

You upset my evening. I hadn't heard that Terra Nova was getting cancelled but I suspected as much. Fox has a history of starting sci fi shows only to cancel them early. There may be hope for the show though. The studio is trying to pitch the show to Netflix of all people. They might pick it up to increase their TV subscriptions.I just subscribed to Netflix to use with a Roku box that I bought. With a Roku and Netflix, I'm getting a chance to catch up on new episodes of Dr. Who that I missed after dropping back on my cable service and losing BBC America. Between Netflix and HULU Plus, I am finding some other Sci Fi shows that I never had a chance to see like LEXX. The SYFY network has gradually become a joke with wrestling and other non-sci fi shows. Destination Truth is another was of time and money. They go off to distant places and only spend one night looking for monsters or ghosts or what. And they never find anything. Why spend so much time and effort and money for just one night of investigation? And why always investigate at night when you can't see anything in the dark?

OMG.. I can't stand that Destination Truth either.. when I was still watching SYFY -which I rarely if ever do now.. I would change the channel when That came on... it was ridiculous.. and your right why wasting all that money to travel all over the globe but they can't use it to keep a real science fiction show on the air. Sorry to ruin your night.. I suppose you would have heard about Terra Nova sooner or later. I hope they pick it up for somewhere... well except for SYFY.. because they would just drop it by next year.... I've been watching Stargate since the beginning.. I used to LOVE the SCIFI channel now it's a joke and I only go there to watch Stargate reruns... and the last few show I like .. Haven, Sanctuary, Warehouse 13 and now the cancelled Eureka.. after that I don't see any reason to return to watch some B rated horror movies about Giant snakes or alligators and definitely NOT wrestling!!!

I watched Stargate from the beginning and even kept watching the reruns when I used turn on the syfy channel. I still like the reruns with Richard dean Anderson who I liked since McGuyver. There's one show of his that I wish I could have seen, Legend. It was a short lived Western that he did that wasn't carried by any of the TV stations when I lived in Georgia. Haven, Sanctuary, and Warehouse 13 are the only thing left of sci fi on syfy. Reruns of the original V don't make it for me. (Reruns of the Invaders might but that was short lived.) At least Eureka has one more short season to go.

I have my list of shows that I really wish they didn't axed. Most of them were only one season long. One of them would be the "No Ordinary Family". The season finale just made me want to watch more. Another would be "Flash Forward". I hate how they have to make good television series go unfinished. I also loved "Chuck". It had a good run but unfortunately, the ending was really a killer. I wish they would still continue these shows in the near future. There are many still I could name.

I too loved no Ordinary Family... it may have been a little hokey. but sometimes I like watching something that didn't make my brain have to think too much about it.

No Ordinary Family was a show I never really had a chance to see and Flash Forward I was interested in but only got to see a few shows. I think Netflix has it so I may try to watch, although I know that the show won't last. I was also a Chuck fan but not totally sure if I like the end.

I absolutely loved ER and was an avid fan of the show during its entire run. I know that over the years the show went through many different changes in casts, but even that was similar to the way that life was in a real ER. That is the show that I would most like to see brought back on the air. Another show that I really liked that didn't last nearly long enough was Three Rivers, I would love to see that show brought back as well.

Three Rivers was good.. I watched it because I followed Alex O'Loughlin there from Moonlight and then on to H5-0... CBS Was really working on my last nerve cancellign everything he was in after one season... I'm glad they finally decided to keep H5-0.. Burrito.. I Agree with you I loved Early Edition too when Fisher stevens was on .. I loved their interaction. And Pretender was a great show.. Not thrilled with the end.

Boy, other that House, I have never really watched any medical shows which includes ER and St. Elsewhere. I think I wouldn't mind seeing St. Elsewhere. Three Rivers came and went so quickly I never had a chance to see it. I might have liked it because I liked Alex O'Loughlin in Moonlight, which I thought was cancelled too soon. He must have an angel though since he bounced over to Hawaii Five-O. Moonlight reminds me of two other shows I liked that were last put on Friday night. Those were Early Edition and The Pretender. I watched The Pretender figuring I would catch up with Early Edition in reruns but both shows got cancelled. Early Edition was probably better the first few seasons when Fisher Stevens was on the show. He was great in the movie Short Circuit playing Steve Gutenburg's Indian friend and he briefly turned up in Lost.

One of my favorite shows was "Twin Peaks". It just stopped after second season, and final episode just open whole new story to be told. It wasn't regular sci fi show, but had some elements of the genre, and generally speaking was mixture of genres that only David Lynch can come up with. And it had awesome soundtrack as well.

Twin Peaks was one of my favorites because it was so quirky. David Lynch also brought into the show some actors who we hadn't seen for awhile, like Russ Tamblyn, Richard Beymer, and Piper Laurie, plus he had two cast of the Mod Squad at one point or another with Peggy Lipton a regular and Clarence Williams III as a guest. David Duchovny in drag was also great.

I saw the Twin Peaks movie, but that was really not that great I hope the series was better as I actually thought the movie as bad, however it is a long time since I saw the movie, and I have never seen the series. The movie was quirky to say the least.

I would really like another season of persons unknown, although that was a mini series it really didn't end. I would also like Human Target to continue Monk really would be nice, although some of the mysteries was getting quiet bad in the end, I didn't like the one with the genius there were just some mistakes he shouldn't have made, really simply. There are a lot of series that shouldn't end, and the bad ones just seems to go on forever.

I wanted to watch Human Target but it was gone so fast. Persons Unknown was a great show that left so much hanging at the end.

Yeah but Human target was the average new show that should just keep going there was so much we didn't know about Guerra in the end, that I would like to know more about. With Persons unknown it was planned as a one series 12 episode mini-series, so it was supposed to end like that, however I really want to see what happens next, could be really interesting, there wasn't really any ending to it.

There are many that I wish weren't canceled. I don't get the SYFY channel so I only saw SG: Universe in reruns on an independent local channel last Summer and I think their run of it stopped at the end of season 1. Since I have heard there was a season 2, I am hoping they will show that this Summer. I can't understand why SYFY canceled it; did they really think that more wrestling was better or more appropriated for a channel called SYFY? I also liked SG: Atlantis which I guess was also a SYFY show that I only saw in reruns on local stations; I really liked it best when Dr. Weir was still on it. I liked Fast Forward and V(the new version) both of which were left hanging. I was a big Lost fan and wish it could have continued and that they hadn't ruined it with the terrible ending. There are many other canceled shows that I wish had gone on longer or that at least had a proper ending.

I was hooked on Stargate from the beginning. Michael Shanks was great at replacing the James Spader character from the movie. Richard Dean Anderson was also a bit more accessible than Kurt Russell. I think the show did lost steam after a while. They built up a possible romance between O'Neil and Carter which they abandoned later as O'Neil was promoted and then left the show. I didn't care for the show as much when Beau Bridges was brought. I didn't warm up to Atlantis at first but later did as an alternative to getting new SG1 episodes. I also thought that the Weir episodes were better and that the show maybe lost a bit when the started rotating in different station heads. Universe was the toughest for me to get into. I had to record a bunch of shows on a DVR and watch them in succession before I liked it and then thought the last show sucked, but i won't say what happened. I don't think the syfi network gave it a good night to be on to generate ratings. I didn't get a real chance to see the new V which I think had to be better than the original.

I have always been an avid television viewer. I ahave been a devoted fans to numerous programs that have come and gone. I usually wasn't bothered too much by it. If i was watching something and it was cancelled, it was soon replaced by something else I became accustomed to watching. I was disappointed when the Little House on the Prairie series came to an end. I spent a great deal of my television time watching the Ingalls family grow up. I still watch it in syndication but it isnt the same. I will always have a place in my heart for that show.

For me there are some shows where you see the last episode and then don't want to see it again. As much as I liked Monk, that a show that I don't want to watch now in good part because I was disappointed with the final show.

I like the new show Community. It's a really funny one. This show has got great talents. Too bad they're going to cancel it to keep Park and Recreation. I also like Rules of Engagement which was temporarily cancelled to air Rob. I can't wait to see Rules back on air. They say it's going to be back after a quick run of Rob. That's my piece burrito!

Rules is only on hiatus. Networks often do that with shows while they film new episodes and/or try out new shows. Of course there are times where is show goes on hiatus because the rations are bad and/or they may be trying to re-work the show to make it more popular. I don't think that is the case with Rules though. I believe Community has also not been cancelled. The network has supposedly ordered more episodes for this spring but they are trying to decide where to fit it in their schedule.

I hope fringe nor spartacus are cancelled. I love those series so much specially fringe that was almost cancelled for going to friday night, thanks to the fans nothing happenned and spartacus looks like a very expensive show to make and it might have the same problem of the series Rome. We never know what to expect now a days :)

Fringe is on shaky ground. Perhaps after cancelling Terra Nova they'll keep it. I think it's a hard show for a new viewer to watch though because they'd have trouble understanding the story line. I haven't seen Sparticus although I hear it's great. I may have to see if it's available through Netflix.

i am a sci fi person my self but i prefer the movies. there is one show that i dis love to watch and that was the home makeover on lifetime. it was a very good thing that they were doing and they changed the lives of so many people. just recently i think it was the last show aired they redid a house kind of local it was in the veiwing area after the tornadoes last april :) i wish they would bring that show back and help so many more families because there is always a family in need out there.
