I love to cook and cooking is one of my hobbies. Does anyone of you guys experiment or make your own recipe? Every time I experiment a recipe, it always turned out good and tasty. :-)

Great for you! For me, I would follow a recipe first then after that I will adjust it according to my taste, I will add more of this, make it more sweet or more salty, add another ingredient, until I have my very own version of the dish. But if I invented a recipe on my own, I am not sure, it can turn into a disaster.

Hi there Chicgale! Well, I am just beginning to learn how to cook, a late bloomer, you may say, so sadly, it is not in my liberty to experiment. I am hoping that someday, I will reach that level wherein I can make my own recipes - good ones, I hope.

I love to cook. I started out learning from my grandma and then mother and then tweeked by taking home ec in junior high and high school. took every cooking course I could. then got married and had five kids. Lots of cooking experience. LOL Never really had a bad meal turn out bad except when I went on a recipe site online and followed a recipe and they had to much salt and pepper for the recipe LOL so pay attention after that one time in a recipe LOL

Wow! Yeah, I learned to cook from my mom. When I was a little, I always watched my mom cooking and even begged to stir the food! hehehhe

No I'm not really much of a recipe creator, I'm much more of a recipe follower. I have probably tried to do it in subtle ways but thats about all, just in very small amounts and hardly noticeable. I'm not that good with cooking to be able to put a handful of ingredients out there and create something, at all. I have cooked everything in my meatloaf though according to my own standards and everyone loves it. Maybe that count count as one of the times I did this.

I think there are recipes we can change easily into our own creations. In particular I like making various stir fries and pasta salads. Both usually have a few similar ingredients but the rest may all be different. Like in pasta salads you usually have some sort of pasta and something like mayo to bind the flavors but you could add various meats like chicken or tuna then whatever veggies you have on hand that would taste good together. I also feel the same way about a stir fry always a meat, seasoning, various veggies, and served over rice or noodles.

I hardly ever read recipes anymore. My experiments usually have to do with what I have in my fridge and in my pantry, but also asking myself what do I want to eat on a certain day. I´m a good cook, so I almost never have kitchen problems.

Im still learning how to cook good and tasty food. I search the recipe in internet, magazines, or from cooking shows. Usually I make some change due to the ingredients and spices I have in kitchen. Sometimes they end good, sometimes just plain
