Do you agree? Look what solution a Swiss guy came up with to heat his car.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQeRX2e3B0U&feature=player_embedded Looks like we are going back to the old country life in a modern version.. And this well heated car is approved by the authorities so he can drive around in the Swiss winter landscape without a police hunting him.. Have you tried any not so common solutions for your problems..??

Sometimes something old and tried really does work. any kind of remedy that i have needed to fix a problem usually starts with a method that is tried and true. sometimes a new spin on it doesn't always do the trick.

That is right, old solutions can be good and sometimes a new one works better. It depends on the situation. The humans are creative, and they often build on old solutions and add something new to it..

no not really as its using up the oxygen in the air in the car and eventually will make the driver ill.just my opinion of course.

You are absolutely right! Fire has to have oxygen to burn and when it takes up all the oxygen there is in the car, the wood fire will smoulder creating carbon monoxide, which is toxic and can cause sickness at best and fatalities at the worst. No good news here!

Yes, fire needs oxygen, but maybe this guy already has thought of it and installed something that takes the fresh air for the fire from outside the car.. It would be interesting to study this invention furthere..

Cute but I don't know about the pollution it is causing? And the danger that something burning may fall out if one hits a bump or a pothole? I think I prefer the kind of heaters that we have in our cars. We don't lose a space where a person can sit and it is very clean.

Perhaps this invention is not so good for big cities, maybe as an emergency solution used in the country if the heating is not enough. It´s a good thing we don´t need this kind of heating everywhere.

If it is something that works, I will usually go with that. I do however like to think outside of the box if I know enough about it to do so. A heated car wouldn't be something that I knew enough about to think that way though.

Hi, Jen I agree with you, I would like to know more if I would think of using this kind of heating.. No problem, I have never owned a car or even a driver´s licence.. both are too expensive here, at least for me.. I would prefer a little country house with a cozy fireplace..

An old solution is definitely better than a Bag of New Ones because old is always gold.

I guess it is true in many cases.. Maybe not always, as many new inventions are very proctical..

That's what I call creativity with lots of ingenuity. Truly, it's a magnificent invention to combat the cold of the winter and avoid the blows of snow. I may have not understood that language but I think he was telling how he came up with that idea of a heater inside his car. A lot of people are complaining about many problems in life but are unwilling to do something about it. People complain about anything under the sun. I think the lesson we can learn is for us to think of ideas and means of solving what we are complaining about.

This invention seems to work well in the Swiss area. Yes, we should be looking for solutions instead of complaining. In many cases it is possible to try something new!

Well, he'll certainly be warm and I hear it can get deadly cold over there. I wonder, though, is his heater broken or just inefficient... I had a Volkswagen Bug once, a great car, but no money to fix the windshield wiper motor. So when it rained I had a real problem! I attached a coat hangar to the driver's side wiper and then it rained I would roll down the window and manually wipe the window. I got wet but I got where I was going safely and didn't have to spend a penny on the "repair". Necessity is the mother of invention.

Well, that is an invention.. Yes sometimes we get creative just because we have to.. I believe necessity has caused a lot of solutions!

It is crude, obviously workable, legal and innovative. I work around furnaces and am skeptical of the safety it offers. What may happen on a bumpy road or in a skid situation is scary and it is bound to spill the fire into the car. With all the plastic that is inside, it can turn into a bonfire. We all do try uncommon methods particularly in tricky situations, and sometimes the solution catches on to become our own invention. My personal invention today was to staple my shirt, because it came back from laundry with two buttons missing. I am sure this is not going to become a habit despite the cushion of my under-vest and cotton padding I stuck to the staple pin with super glue, to prevent the pricking it is bound to do. Anyways it took more time to do this, than to sew on a new button.

I have no idea about what safety details there are in this invention, so let´s see if it becomes a useful thing that is used commonly or if it remains just a fun thing..

As for not so common solutions, yeah. I used a tape to slap my 2007 phone at the window face upstairs and turned the bluetooth on. Here downstairs I'm mylotting and the cellphone serves as my modem. I was thinking negative that the distance wont enable the bluetooth connection but it actually does work.

Interesting, even if I am a technically illeterate.. Who knows what solutions we find by being creative..
