I am in the company but jobless NOW

i joined this new company last Sept. and now its been about half a year. When i joined here a woman took her materity leave and i have just been responsible for her jobs during her absence. She came back last Wednesday, now its Wedbesday again while i still havent got any new arrangement from my company. I even dont have a computer and seat. Luckily there is a part time girl in our office so in the morning when she is not here i could use her computer but in the afternoon when she comes i will have to go to some other office for a seat and be sitting there for a whole afternoon without a computer. This company is an international but i am suspecious if it is one. With current situation its been a week now and nobody cares about me...Well, to be honest, i could get my salary normally like i did before but i dont feel comfortable being here doing nothing. This is so funny!....

LOL! Are you an intern or full-timer or part-timer? Well from what you've said, I think you should feel happy because literally, nobody's giving you stress or chasing after you for projects and you get your pay just by 'sitting down'?!! Haha. I'm an intern now and my supervisor is an IT manager. He doesn't have anything to do too most of the time and what he does is that he just surfs the net and Facebook all the time!!! But tomorrow he's going to the Philippines for a 2 week holiday and that period I'll be the 'master' and I was like 'Oh My God' I have to handle things that I may not want to handle during his absence! So should I act busy from now onwards so what nobody comes to disturb me? I'm really hoping for a peaceful 2 weeks
!!! I think you should just wait for the company's notice then. Meanwhile maybe you could bring your own laptop and surf the net?

I see. It will be really boring if you have to sit there all day. Maybe you can read some newspapers or something.

My husband works in another town and he takes my laptop with him all the time; i can only use the desktop home and you know i can not take a desktop to the company.
Well, i know how it feels when your supervisor goes for a holiday. It happened to me. But at least you have your position and work. As for me, i have to wait.

Have you tried approaching HR Department? My take is that you were taken for a contractual job. i do find it disturbing that no one is approaching you... so, what are you doing in the office now???

i have talked to the Human Resource department too but they also have no idea how to arrange me. They are also waiting for the decision from the management team. This company is badly managed.

No one comes and checks you out ?
I mean , the manager is supposed to know about everyone and what they do all the time , doesn't he ?
Maybe you can help some other people in their work , you can find some friends and help them , but they can also tell about you to the manager and can get you fired.
That is really wierd to just be in a certain framework or workplace and not having what to do there. It happened to me at the army , I didn't got accepted to any course but they still kept me at the base and do nothing. Not even general jobs like cleaning around...
Maybe you and the girl that came back , you can both do her work and she will probabely like it to get some help , making her job easier and still get paid the same salary. And you too.

Sometimes when she has something comfused i can still help her out, but there is only one seat and one computer.
The general manager knows it but according to my department supervisor he hasnt arranged a position for me yet, and it has taken him for more than a week now...
I wanted to contact the general manger direactly but as i also have my department supervisor so i dont know if it is right for me to do it. Until now i am still waiting here and most of the time i dont have seat or computer available.
This is really a weird company; i am kinda disappointed with it.
