Do I need to pay P5000.00 ($115.99 ) or more to renew my license.

My license expired last 2000. Is it still possible to have it renewed? I stopped practicing my profession, and I worked in a call center that is why I never renewed my license for more than a decade. As per PRC website, a penalty for expired license for more than one year is P450.00 ($10.44), so I thought I'll pay P5000.00 plus to have it renewed. Am I correct?

As to your statement, you said that penalty for expired license more than a year is P450, so this means that you are going to pay only that amount for the whole decade and not P5000. Better call them in their hotline or go to the PRC office personally so you can further inquire about your penalty. What is your profession, BTW?

I can't go to PRC this monday due some stuffs that needs to be finished in work. It's all right if my license expired. Perhaps, I'll just wait my wife's renewal on May this year. I'll just paythe penalty.

Yes. It's P450, but because mine has already been expired for more than a decade, 13 years to be exact, do you think the penalty fee is the same? It's teaching. I never thought I'll still have an interest to teach after so many years.

a okay. you need to call PRC so you will know how much it will cost you to renew yours. but i think 5000 will be too much.

Do you also think they will require me to take the Board Exam again?

I'm pretty sure it's not on a yearly basis. It should be just once whether a year or a decade. to be completely sure, try going or contacting PRC and have this cleared with them.

Hi wittynet, can you give us an update of your meeting with the PRC tomorrow with your situation. It's interesting, it got me thinking what if my license expires too because of not practicing my profession, what would it cost me to get my licence back. Does teachers also have this required units in practicing your profession before you are allowed to renew. We have that in nursing, I just don't know if it is strictly implemented. Oh well, God bless tomorrow.

Sure! I will. I checked my name in PRC website, and it's still there! I am still a licensed professional.

Better call their hotline or asks LTO office once you happen to pass by their office (there's a lot of LOT branches) I was penalized for 75 pesos for renewing my expired license...it's 2 months expired. (just renewed recently)

I think you have mistaken mine for a driver's license. This is a professional license. I don't think Land Transportation Office(LTO) can help.

No, you are not going to pay 5000 pesos. You only have to pay the penalty of 150. 75 pesos for 1 year penalty, and 150 pesos for 2 years or more.

I think the renewal is around 900 pesos then 150 pesos for the penalty.

I think you should renew your prc id even though you are not using it. PRC id is an important ID. It is your only proof that you are already a professional and have passed the exam. I think Renewing an ID would not reach that high. Renew it now, don't let another year pass before you renew it.

You are correct! I just realized that. When I resigned from teaching after 11 years, I promised I'll no longer teach. But now, this is the only option I have to work abroad, so I'll have it renewed.
