Maybe its depression again. I have been on medication all these years 10 years. 5 years in the first is very bad years for me until recently 5 years after I feel much better. Recently all of you know I work at a market research company as a tele interviewer. Its already been 7 months I work there. First 3 months were very good to me, I come to work everyday. Lately this project about insurance really put my mood off, its about 100 questions for each respondent, and I found it hard to finish the whole interview, and my supervisor pressured me now and then to come and work. I don't know what is happening to me, my mood cycle always change with the environment, yesterday my brother told my mom and asked why I did not find a regular job to work, flexible is very low salary. He said forget about depression, nowadays everyone wants to work and survive too like him. I take note what he said and I feel I might dissappointed him anyway, coz my mood does not work good, it always change like when I promise my supervisor to come to work, when on the way to work my mood already change to worse, thinking to go back home and do my own thing. What is happening to me and how I can overcome this? Can someone help me? I know I am trouble some coz I always post discussion like this because until I can solve this problem, then I will feel good again.

Here's some down to earth advice, you may not like it, you may think that it is too hard to do and you may even think that I am playing with you. I am convinced that you are depressed and you are taking your medication regularly. Here what most of us forger that while medicine cures, it is we who heal ourselves. So please please take away the notion that taking medication will get rid of the depression. It is you who has to take charge of your emotions and condition them to get out of your problem. The fact that you are here and are talking to us is the proof that you want to get well. The first step to getting well is to behave as you are already well. If you do your daily chores as any other person you know, then you are well! Both your mind and your body will believe and respond accordingly. So force yourself to go to work and do your job diligently. This whole process will occupy most of your waking hours and hopefully, any intrusive and negative thought will be dealt with by your being busy. For the entertainment time, talk to your family and friends, about everything on earth except your problem. If you talk about your problems to your friends, you will most likely drive them away. Just talk and have a good time. If you want to talk about your depression the doctor is always there for you and the right person to talk to. Having dealt with your waking hours, take some time off to reflect on the day passed, think of how you can make it better tomorrow. You need not come to a conclusion right then and there, just let it stay with you when you sleep. When you get into bed make sure it is as comfortable as you want. Now lie down in the bed, take long and slow breaths, imagine that you are in a happy place and simply relax as you would there. Say softly to your self "Today was good, tomorrow will be great", repeat that till you fall asleep. The mind works on this thought all through the night and will condition you to have a great day the next day. Other thoughts will intrude, just ignore them and they will go away. When you wake up the next day, stay in the bed relaxing for about 5 minutes and saying softly to yourself, "Yesterday was good and today will be great". This first thought of the day will carry you through the entire day. However much I dislike the use of the word "force", I have to tell you, you need to force yourself to smile all the time, force yourself to be pleasant in your presentation and force yourself to relax when you feel unpleasantness coming your way. This is very hard to do at first, but, if you persist, you will find yourself mastering it earlier than you expected, much earlier. Good Luck with your efforts to a happy living.

First of all I have to say that I don't think that you should have to apologize for starting this discussion. The reason that I feel this way is because of the fact that I have found the mylot community to be the best therapy that I have ever had. With that said, do you think that there is any chance that your medications might need to be aejusted? If you think that could be the case, then I think that a visit to your doctor would be a really good idea.

I have changed my medicine twice before and the effect is it affect my body and mind. I can't be myself normally in a day I got shaky legs and hands, disturbed mind and so on. I am scared that if I change my medicine again, it can be worse. Because of that, I always hide in my room when I am unhappy. I don't think my mom will agree to change my meds again too.

I feel sorry for you. I do hope with posting in MyLot can help you overcome your depression. Maybe it's just the work that didn't fit you. Me myself must find two other jobs until finally i've got the one i'm doing now. I'm almost doing it for a year, and i do hope this could be my last job and i find my passion in here. About your matters, try to be more confidence, and just don't look anything that bothers you in the work. Try to have some fun in work and treat the work as a play not a burden. Well, i know. It's easier to be said than done. And don't forget to pray. God will help you, i'm sure.

You need to relax yourself first girl. It's not good for one person to keep on continue depressing. Take around walking at nearest garden and make yourself happy first then you might get some new thing when you back to your position. Wish you good luck. Cheers! :)

Hello Wongchoiyee I'm sorry your sad. Life can be very hard sometimes. I know how it feels not wanting to go to work. Sometime I just feel like not showing up at all. Sometime work feels overwhelming and you just need a break. It's normal for moods to change in different environmeents. for example, When it rains I often get depressed.

Hello! You have to stay positive and think postive. You should not let your supervisor upset you or the work. Sometimes it can be a harmone inbalance. Sometimes I will feel depression during the middle part of the month for no reason. It feels like everything has gone wrong. But when I start looking at things in a positive way, i don't let it bother me. Do what you can do, keep making extra income and talk things out with your supervisor. Stay strong and Stay encouraged!

I feel the same way too. Sometimes it's hard to encourage yourself but we have no choice really. I agree that it could be a hormone imbalance too. Hormones! Uggh!

I think you need to change your outlook in life and your lifestyle. You have to start looking at things at the positive side of it and always make yourself feel good about anything. You have to face the problem but at the same time face it not only with courage but joy. I think it will do you good to watch uplifting clips, funny sitcoms, listen to cheerful songs, read happy short stories, have good cheerful friends you can spend some time with. Get to know yourself and find a way to conquer whats has been dragging you down. Professional help could also do you good, as you already have medication, so just continue. Good luck!

We share the same problem. No one can help us really but ourselves. I also feel that way. Few hours before work I feel excited and want to get ready and all that. Then my mood changes and then I don't want to work anymore. Your brother was right we need to work and forget about depression but how we cope with depression differs in each person. Some happy people (lucky ones: good family background, high self esteem etc.) may have different outlooks in life so they take depression like it's not a big deal, but for some people, that includes me it's really hard. Some people cope with vices and some through posting in forums like this and some just want to give up and sleep and be lazy. But like I already mentioned we have to survive and we can't survive if we constantly deal with depression. I guess you have to connect to yourself and befriend yourself. Try to identify things that will make you happy, try to divert your attention and hypnotize yourself. For me, praying before I go to work helps, though it doesn't erase the depression but it helps me be strong and face mood changes. Before I go to work I have a prayer I always read and I always ask for courage and then eventually I can get through it.It's like holding your breath while entering a very dark tunnel. I always picture a bright side at the end of the tunnel. I tell myself you can survive this day you can just pass through it you have no choice but to pass through it. Then eventually I can pass through that stage and feel like Im fine and Im enjoying the job. I experience this once in a while and that's what I do. Then everytime I have day off I always try myself to enjoy it. Time for myself like a gift for being able to be courageous enough to accomplish a very challenging day. It might work for you too.

trust me everybody has that kind of time.. whether they have depression or not..and if you will let yourself to be on it..then it will own you.. I know everybody will say this.. but I am gonna say it again..stay positive!! and find a reason why do you wanna wake up in the morning and go to work.. sometimes there are no easy thing to do.. even doing nothing is much more hard and there are more room to be depressed.. Think of this as a challenge and who knows after you pass this one...the other problem you might encounter in your work will be nothing compare to this... just hold on for now as much as you could :)

Hello there! I believe that depression is a serious problem. I think we need to share our thoughts to someone we trust in order to get some advice. I did have some medications too but I stopped it because of its side effects on me. I am myLotting because it is here where I can find some good advice. I would suggest that you change the way you think and see things too. Think positive and look for the brighter side. Good for you that you have work unlike some that have no work or no income. Ofcourse you can overcome this! Stay happy! :)

Hi, Hope after posting this discusion, you are feeling good. Everyone gets mood swings and i can understand your work load as well. May be work is not that interesting for you and finishing a 100 question in one go is really tough. May be you could try to divide your questions in part and suggest your supervisor that he/she should consider partly assignment or may be 100 questions in 2-3 parts and compile them in one day... Since you are regular in medication I am sure that will help you at this time of stress. Just focus on the work and do not think it is too much, take it as a challenge and say you can do it....be motivated and keep up the good work. Relax a while and enjoy the work, you can really do it..

hi wongchoiyee, I really think you need to go for counselling. You need to talk to someone who is very close to you.
