I only watched a bit of the game as i was busy down the gym but from what i seen Manchester united for outclassed from start to finish, they were second to everything and the didnt compete. I agree that maybe they do need a world class player in the side. I think that they need a top striker to go up front with Rooney, wellbeck isnt good enough i do think that Berbatov should get played more as i think he is a great player but hardly gets played.

i don`t think MU need a forward.. they had enough forward..they had young and talented forward like dhani wellbeck and chicarito and of course rooney..so its enough for MU..

Yeah they do need some new defenders Phil Jones and vidic are still good but I think that Rio Ferdinand is to slow now, smalling is good enough either. They also need a top striker

Athletic Bilbao played very well in both legs. They deserved to win. I said it as a Manchester United fan. I watched every minute of the 2 matches. I am greatly impressed by Athletic Bilbao and their number 9, Fernando Llorente was simply fantastic in both legs. The first goal he scored - a first timer volley was just world class! They also have a good goalkeeper in Gorka Iraizoz. I can't believe that a team capable of playing such fluent attacking football is just the number 7 team in the La Liga table at the moment. I am a fan of them now. As for Manchester United, I don't feel secured with Evans. The midfield defense is not as solid as when Scholes is around. But Sir Alex didn't play his best team in the match. I am sad with that decision but I would accept if that means we can take the EPL title at the end of the season.

i see.. so Spain don`t worry even Torres until now can`t get his finishing touching and Villa is still injured..right?

Spain's best forwards for the Euro Cup would be Llorente and Soldado. Torres and Villa (he's injured though) will have to step up.

I was myself very surprised at the result. I think Man U want to concentrate on the Premier League title chase. So in that sense did not take Europa League very seriously. I am happy for Bilbao which actually shows that the Spanish clubs are doing good. Cheers! Ram

i dont think MU is only concentration into EPL .. they are thirsty too the european league trophy.. but the fact show that MU is not ready for the second league... i dont know, if there are factors when MU underestimate this league or not..only Sir Alex and God know, what is in Sir Alex opinion about MU participation in european league

Man united has been hit hard by injuries throughout the season. They ought to be glad to be doing considerably well in the league, given the pressure by Man city. It doesn't matter for Man united to fall in Europe because they can always come back again next season when their squad is stronger. After all, Man united has been winning the European trophy on a regular basis and it doesn't hurt to miss out on a few, enroute to their future successes with trebles or even all available.

Inconsistency is one problem MU had this season. Beside the amount of their injured players. It might be caused by their young players they have the most in this season. Young players need more experience to play in Europe/regional competition. Just having good skill is not enough. Well, hope next season MU will get stronger and their young players have enough experiences.

How come a first rank team in Barclays Premier League could defeat and failed to move next round. This is totally freak for Manchester United failed to beat Athletic Bilbao. The only hope for them is Barclays Premier League Cup. Could they successful to win it? It is really wonder Athletic Bilbao play well and show a maximum strengthen to beat Manchester United. I think Manchester lose hope when the second goal from Athletic Bilbao made a big hit to Manchester United. Not only that they not so good in attacking compare last year. It is better for Manchester to focus in signing up a good player. Perhaps buying a new player even changes of coach could make a good result for them in future.
