Hi there guys, How yah all doing tonight or today, maybe midday who knows??? Anyway a couple of years ago i was watching this comedy show (American) can't remember the title or it's actors but i know it was American and it was comedy because i think that is usually the only thing American i watch except for cop shows. Anyway again, and then this one character was reading and said to the other person that a person who reads 4 books a month, tends to be more intellectual or knowledgeable, do you agree guys? I think people who read stuff that are informative and has some kinda common sense sort of reading material whatever it maybe have more intellectual edge than those who don't. What about you guys? What ya think, please share.

I read an awful lot, probably about 4 books a month if you count Manga. I am constantly with my nose in a book. I actually give stopped reading a book about an hour or so ago. I love to read while I am relaxing in the bath tub or in between clients for work. I am not sure if it makes me more intellectual or knowledgeable. It just helps me relax and forget about the stresses of the day.

I am half agreeing on it. I might consider if the person reads a book that has informative content and not boring. For sure the person who do this will surely gain knowledge. So it really depends on the book what he/she reads but how many books he/she can read in a month.

Hi there syoti, Well that is absolutely correct that it would be best if you are reading something that has some sort of application in the real world, something informative that maybe can be used in daily living or in anything that is applicable in real life. My friend thanks for that, letting us here your view i guess my discussion is little bit incomplete anyway thanks and happy lotting.

Well, I read 4 or more books in a month but I don't feel like I'm more intelligent than the people around me. But of course, I learn a lot of things while I read even though I just like reading young adult, chic lit, and zombie novels. I just love reading.

Zombie mangas? Well I haven't tried yet but I have read some good romance mangas. Hehe. Of course I'm a girl that's why I love romance mangas but I would to try some zombie mangas! Would you recommend some? Yes, that's true. No matter what we read, we still get a little info about something and I get ideas how to fight a zombie if they become real.

zombie novels, do you read zombie manga's too those things are great, anyway again i think there is additional knowledge that we get from books and even sometimes hint on how to react in real life when a certain comparable situation arises so i guess anything you read as long as there is some small details in it is something you can learn from.

Would it also the same as reading comments here, bro? If we stay in mylot for, say, 4 hours a day reading comments, It'll be just the same as reading books, right? And I am sure we will get the same benefit. What I know is that reading will sharpen our brain. Of course if we sharpen it, it will definitely be smarter, right? Can we say "the more we read, the more we don't know"?

I agree with you. It think it is any kind of reading not just reading a book. Any kind of reading helps sharpen our minds as does writing. So I think spending time on mylot is beneficial because we are spending time thinking about discussions like this one that bring people in to debate and discuss a topic.

Yeah you know in my opinion any kind of reading is informational may it be good or bad or to young or to old for you there are just some information in things that we read that we sometimes don't know about and i love that part that we can learn a lot from books, so keep reading my friend.

Hi there bro, I think reading a lot here in my-lot is great we tend to get a lot of views and we get to meet very intelligent people that shares there knowledge but for me being in the medical field I think it would be best for me to read more on books and journals for more help in my profession. I think books and our lovely sites can go hand in hand to provide us more knowledge don't you think so my friend? Anyway I think that the more we read the more we know about, what in the past we don't know. My version. Thanks a lot and always stay safe on your biking my friend.

Four books a month? Wow. How can you be not intellectual with that much information put in your head? I should be ashamed. I'd been reading this very short novel for months now. I only read a page or two when I find the time. I think I have to finally resolve to do some serious reading, eh?

Hi there cutie18f, I guess we all need to do some awful lot of reading this days, I had never had the will to read news papers nor novels, the last time that I read something on a book was a couple of months back that that is just a phrase in the book, well anyway my friend let us read more to learn more right. Cheers, Happy mylotting.

I would say based on the books / materials that you read. It doesn't mean that if you read more, your mind will be sharpen more. For example, if a persn is given to read 4 different phone books or address directories, or perhaps 4 books of name list, do you think that person will be smarter? No, I don't think so. He / She will be informative but certainly can't be smarter, nor the mind be sharpen.

Hi there lucas, Very literal my friend , well of course it is important that your book should have sense and is informative not like those kinds of books, anyway I do agree material is important who made it if it is true and if the book really provides some ways on how to deal with the real life then i guess that would be best. Thanks for the comment now, happy lotting.

I would say I think some people are just naturally smarter than others, so I am sure there are people out there who are smart, even without reading that exact amount, but yes, I do think that reading a book teaches you a lot of stuff, and one thing's for sure: No harm can come out of it, so why not give it a try?

Hey there puccagirl, Thanks for commenting and have a great day mylotting today now puccagirl, Yeah give it a try, well i for one does not really read a lot but in my opinion if you do you tend to save lot's of info's an details in your head when you study or read, not all people who read are smart and not all people who do not read are not smart but more knowledge means more power right. Thanks again for the comment.

Yes, I agree. With such reading, the person doing so can be more intellectual and knowledgeable. But a lot of book reading MAY NOT make a person smarter or wiser. Smarts and wisdom need more than books. Life itself, in addition to books, in all its variety and rambunctiousness, has to be factored in and learned and applied. Book learning has also to be applied to real life. And the experiences in real life has also to be be analyzed and learned.

Hi there RBBantiles, That is right my friend, anyway Good day to you, I think that anything that is read is a theoretical point of view of another persons experiences until you or you see someone else perform it am not saying we should do everything in books but for more life experiences and more learning application of what we read and is realistic should be done so that we experience it and learn from it. Thanks for the comment.
