Last night I browsed seeking info on coffee. Finally I found it and to my surprise, it was said that coffee was the source of antioxidants! So far we have been negative about coffee. What do you say about this?

But dark chocolate will make us fat, won't it? It contains much fat, while coffee doesn't. Am I right WakeUpKitty?

Actually dark chocolate contains less fat than milk chocolate. Also the amount of dark chocolate you eat per day doesn't contain that much fat. Coffee can also contain more fat if you drink it with cream in it. I don't mean the coffee creamer or low fat milk in it, but half and half or heavy cream in it.

As i know COFFEE is the second largest commodity in the world next to gasoline. Yes its true that coffee has the anti-oxidant properties and its good for our health. But if we drink too much coffee it is also not good for our body because coffee also have caffeine content and too much caffeine in our body is not good. That's why when we drink too much coffee some times our heart beat faster, that' the effect of caffeine. But there are some coffee have less caffeine content like herbal coffee, and they are good for our health because it can help some of our body problems.

The caffein effect is only temporary. 6 cups would be the maximum. We can have decaffeinated coffee with much less caffein. I think coffee has more benefits than disadvantages. I have drunk coffee since I was a child and I have never had serious sickness ever since.

Yup.I know about the benefits of coffee but I don't drink coffee that much.I prefer to drink milk.If ever I'll drink coffee,I'd choose milk as my creamer.

Most of the time I drink coffee with milk, too. It tastes better. Coffee without sugar would be the best I think. What do you say about it?

Another benefit from drinking coffee is that if you have an asthma attack coffee will help control the attack. I suffer from asthma and have had coffee control the attack. It was presented by a doctor who specializes in asthma and there is something in the coffee content that will open the bronchial passages that close during the attacks.

Asthma can be signified by a cough, it's like a person is trying to clear the airways to get more air into the lungs. Asthma is the narrowing of the bronchial tubes leading to the lungs. The narrowing can be caused by any number of triggers including stress, pollens, pollution, over exertion, colds, and more. It's a life long condition that can be controlled by medication. If your daughter has allergies, especially during the blooming season in the spring, she will find it very difficult to breathe. If your daughter runs and then has bad problems catching her breath, or exertion makes her wheeze and she has a rattling noise or a "whistle" when she breathes from the exertion, she very likely has asthma. I am going to send you a friend request so that I can explain further about asthma and how to control it. I don't want to post all the information on the Lot so I would prefer to send it to you in an email.

Coffee drinker? - Coffee or milk, which is which?
Coffee source of antioxidants! Well don't ever allow yourself to be cheated by promotional lines such s this. Coffee has bad effect on our health because it contains an additive substance called caffeine. This alone is one good reason to avoid or completely junk coffee if you are into it. If you are no coffee drinker then good for you and don't ever try to drink just because the makers of coffee say it has antioxidant. You can have antioxidants from other sources anyway.

I disagree with you. I've proved it myself that coffee is good for health as long as you don't drink it too much. I've been drinking coffee since I was 15 years of age, and thank God, I have never been confined to bed because of illness. Nestle has never promoted its coffee product as saying that it contains antioxidants. What do you think of this?

I am also a coffee drinker. I usually drink one cup a day usually on working days to awaken my senses during mornings. I think everything in this world if too much is not good. So I think a cup or two is okay but I think drinking more is not good. Just my opinion :)

I never knew that occasional coffee consumption has such natural benefits of anti oxidant effect. I preferred tea to coffee. Now i am desirous of developing a liking for strong unsweetened coffee

Tea is also antioxidants-rich but not as much as coffee. That's what I was told. I like tea, too, especially the dark one.

I say that the stimulant effect of coffee and its bad effects far outnumber the antioxidant effect. Almost everything in the plant kingdom has an oxidant effect. What makes for a healthy antioxidant is the predominance of that trait. I would like to have a cup of coffee every now and then, but as a regular habit, it is not on my list.

I love the scent of coffee that makes me want to drink more. My wife hates coffee. She doesn't like me to drink coffee too much. When I come down with a cough, she yells at me for not drinking coffee!

I love drinking coffee also. But I limit myself to 1 cup a day. I usually drink it during mornings because it makes me alert and awake at work. And if I have a cup of coffee a day I am not sleepy during the entire day. I have also read about it's benefits, that it is antioxidant. But I think drinking more can also have some bad effects on our body. I think too much is enough so 1-3 cups a day I think is okay but more than that might caused some bad effects on our body.

The caffein effect is felt when too much consumption of coffee. If you drink about 3 cups a day that will be fine. It has more advantages than disadvantages.
