I have a friend who ended up staying a bachelor up to this time at 50 {he lost his fiancee in a car accident}. He is quite intelligent, rich and working as a business executive. Recently, we talked about the issue of children, as he knows i got seven sons, and dwell on the topic of his legacy when he grows old. To my surprise, he told me that he got about three kids from three different women whom he had not met. Actually, he is a sperm donor. The process was so meticulous as he was to pass different test {IQ, blood type, etc.}, then categorized on to what somewhat sounded like a "gene hierarchy", a tagging of some sort and once filed, he would be contacted for his sperm to be donated when a client is interested in his genes. I was quite shocked and overwhelmed especially with the cost. He brought a magazine with him being interviewed on the matter of being a sperm donor. Would you be willing to be a sperm donor? Or would you resort to this kind of process to have a child? Your thoughts on this?

I heard something of this sort in the promos of a new movie which is yet to be released. But yes, I knew such things existed, but I never knew that people would do that for money. It seems there are people who work as Sperm Donors too. I do not know what to say, just neutral about it!

Artificial insemination has been going on for quite sometime for couples having problem of having a child. The procedure is quite expensive and i think only those who are financially capable could avail. According to my friend, there are even clients [single female] who just wants to have a child and not a husband, lol!

Oh yes, that's there. Couples without kids do go for such things, but single females going for this is strange. I mean, they could rather adopt a kid and grow them.

That's another matter. The question should be taken into consideration by doctors, scientists and sociologists.

wow. and i thought i'd only encounter such questions in pocket books. so it really does happen in real life. Well, if he's ok with it, then maybe it could be considered acceptable. after all, the clients who take sperms from him were given a choice.

The amazing part of it as he stated was the fact that they were tagged or categorized "from the brainy to the good-looking", so the choice range is somewhat picking up what the client wants ideally, lol!

This days almost everything is possible ,i personally would prefer the normal process of child bearing .if i was in a situation where i don't have any other options, i would rather apply for adoption .this is my personal take on that

For those who are not lucky enough to have the normal process, this is an expensive option of having your own child, as once pregnancy is conceived, so thus the normal course of 9 months full-term baby, and definitely for sure you can call it your own despite the sperm donor.
