cheese and wine tasting

I was talking to a friend about doing something with the girls you know just a little group gathering. Just we aren't any of us in a position to go out and spend money. I thought it might be a good idea to do a wine and cheese tasting. We could each grab a bottle of wine and a hunk of interesting cheese and get together to eat drink and be merry. Two of our chicas are on board the other three are looking at us like we are crazy.. it is amazing we're all still friends! So would you feel having something like a cheese and wine tasting at a friends equal to going out?
