going to the moon

if you get the chance to fly to the moon, what would you bring with you and why? I would bring with me a photo of me and my son and leave it there just like one of the astronomers did. How about you?

Good question, it took me a few minutes to come up with an answer. I think what I would probably do is take along a stone age hand axe and leave it there. It would serve as a symbol of how far we've come, and how far we've yet to go. I could also use the pointy end to scratch a message in the regalith - maybe something like "Killroy was here" or "Wot? No oxygen?" ;-)

I am not sure if the martians would like me trespassing so I would leave a photo of my worst enemy and hope they come after them instead. Joke.
But no really that's a hard question, I have no idea really. Maybe a picture book about humans. So they'd know what we were like, if other life ever found it. Some day the moon will be highly traveled. Probably only ten years from now the first hotel, shops and homes will be built there.
