L.O.L. Funny but not funny, it seems since I have been out of work for a year now at first I was used to waking up at 5:30 a.m. and it lasted for a while but the past few months it is hard for me to wake up at that time anymore, My husband seems to think I am his alarm clock now and when I get up at a later time it is like he is mad because I did not wake him to leave for his job. He needs to leave at 7 to get to his job but he never makes it and it is kind of like he blames me, I set my alarm for 5:40 but I keep hitting slepp 10 more minutes l.o.l. But anyway I just can not seem to wake up like I used to have you ever experienced something like this?

Yes I often times experience that when I take vacation (which I havn't taken in 3 years), our body gets acclimated to certain practises and habits, which is what happened when you were employed but now that you're not and you can rest, that is exactly what's it's doing, getting used to sleeping later than normal, loll. They say it takes our mind and body 21 days to get used to a habit, so I guess if ever you get back out into the field of work, it'll take you another 21 days to wake at 5:30 once more, loll. Tell your husband you're not his alarm clock, in fact put it on his side of the bed. Don't let him lay blame on you for his inability to arrive to work on time. Are you the one doing his job???? Sweetie, take advantage of the sleep because there'll come a time when you wish you did

Not for me. But my mother experienced something like that. My father have so many works at my home also. Finishing the work it will 11:00 over. Then some small small works. Sometimes my mother and father going to sleep at 12:30 or sometimes it will 1:00...!! And then my father go to work at 6:00.(Father's job is in a school- H.M.. Now its SSLC examination. Because father wants to go from here at 6:00. Usually at 7:00 or 7:30) In this way my mother and my father destroys their good sleep.... Good discussion. I like this.. Thanks.

Wow and thanks I think people need sleep and the thing with my husband is he is addicted to coffee and it will be almost 12 in the morning and I will be asleep and he will wake me up and ask me to make him a cup!! Then I have to wake up at 5;30 a.m. That makes me so mad!

Hi ja hernandez rivas: I am actually passing through this same situation. After years waking up early I feel lazy. I think the only possible solution for me is trying my best to go to bed earlier so I sleep well and I feel better when I have to go back to work. ALVARO

Oh, I'm exactly the same. I was perfectly capable of waking up before eight in the morning and being functional, but now? Let me sleep in an hour or two more, please. I guess I lost some motivation to wake up at earlier times since I didn't have anything to attend to but job hunting and housework.

I've never needed an alarm. I just wake up every morning at about the same time every morning. Now for my husband that'sanother story. I started sething the clock in the bedroom 15 minutes fast. He doesn't know that. So when the alarm goes off he can still procrastanate getting up and he won't be late. For your husband I suggest poke him in the butt when the alarm goes off. Nothing like being poked first thing in the morning. I would imagine in time he would get tired of it and just get his butt out of bed when the alarm goes off.Best Wishes!

For me i managed this kind of issue by setting 3 alarms at different time interval at least 15min each interval. The first alarm is set to alert me that i have only 30 minutes to sleep. The second alarm would alert me that i have 15mins more to give me grace period. The 3rd alarm should have waken me up because my mind is set to work mode already, refusing to sleep, and the tag of my alarm in the phone was labelled as LOVE YOUR JOB. Cheers!

First and foremost you are not an alarm clock and he shouldn’t blame you for getting up late. What would he do if you travelled? It is not strange that you cannot wake up as early as you used to. The human body adapts to our timetable of life. When you used to work, the threat of losing your job would not allow you to post pone the alarm clock because you knew the consequences.
