I still have to hear of a nation which got no beggars in their midst. Generally speaking they're practically found in all parts of the world. Considered liability rather than asset to society, what measures would you think to help improve their lot?

I can't help feeling sorry for them in a way because I know I could never do it myself, and I always feel embarassed as I am not in any financial position to help them. But I feel worse when I get approached by a lot of charity collectors knowing they get paid and only a little of any money given goes to the charity, it makes me feel bad as they are collecting for charity but I have to tell myself that not much of any money I give is going to that charity...

Would it be okay to say that in every society there are those who can't cope with competition in life. They're the ones that lag behind and are burden to the great majority. They're less equipped with mental as well physical faculties and find life dull and uninteresting.

There's many foundations, non-gov't. organizations as well as our governments who's helping our less fortunate fellow. But sad to say, there's not enough! As there's more begging fellow were giving birth each day *sigh!
Poverty due to over population is one big aspect of the problem.
Ignorance and irresponsibilty also counts. And more to be listed... a domino effect.
I think, being responsible by our own action will make a difference.
Poverty in the land is a complex problem of the government to be addressed. New administration were come and go, but the problem were still there. Started but not been resolved.
Is the resolution about the problem not right? ... not enough? How about the implementation? Have we did our part?
Haist! Poverty been a cancer to a nation that makes everyone suffer...
I don't think I can be of help to better them. As I believe, we're driving our own wheel. We go left if we turn it left... right if we want it right.
I do give in charities, but yes, it's not enough!
