You might already heard of net zero, it is way before we have our DSL fast access internet. While we are using dial up internet, net zero already offer free connection and service to wide range of customers. Now, with the extinction of Dial Up internet, Net Zero once again offer free service, if you only care about checking email or surfing the web. The catch is they only allow you to use 200 MB with $0 charge per month. You still have to pay for the USB mobile modem though. If you need bigger data plan, a $9.99 per month for 500 MB might not be a bad choice, but you still can't download mp3, or watching video though. So, if you are not a internet frequent user, but you still need internet connection for wherever you go, net zero can be a good choice for you.

I had thought about trying them when we were trying to cut down our costs. However, like you said I figured there'd be a catch and it wasn't unlimited data or a slower speed. Which in that case if you have a netbook or laptop you may be better going somewhere that has free wifi
