North Korea's second stage of rocket will hit within Philippine territory

I still cannot believe it is in the news, nor why people are not making a big fuzz over it. But here is the deal: North Korea will launch a rocket in mid-April that they say is intended to send a satellite into orbit, but USA and most of the world believes is just a pretext for long range missile test. PNoy's government already asked for USA help to monitor the rocket. This is a very dangerous event because there is a big possibility that parts of the rocket may land within a populated area and not 119 miles east of Northern Philippines as estimated. Those scumbags in North Korea should go to hell for treating our country as their target practice.

hello, in my knowledge ( and forgive me if I'm wrong) is that satellites are launched into orbit using a rocket and rockets fall off in certain stages. I think a lot of other countries do this. We get a scare because we do not trust N. Korea since it's been test firing long range missiles or intend to and arm it with a nuclear warhead. Rocket does not mean a missile intended towards us, it's more like the bullet shell or casing falling and not an actual bullet being fired at us, I know it would pose a danger to all of us especially because of the proximity but all of us are always at risk of being hit by space debris everyday that find it's way back to Earth made by a lot of other countries that have capabilities, they have littered space with junk the same way they do here on the ground. So just relax ( I said this because there is no way we can influence N.Korea), since we do not have the capability to monitor it, guess we have to thank good old Uncle Sam if it's willing to help us cause they have the knowledge, experience and capability of dealing with this. Remember Skylab? well that scared the sh.. out of me a few years back, but now I think worrying is useless, so let's keep our fingers crossed and pray that they would not do it or if they do, it does not land in our backyard.

We didn't panic when china and india launch their own missiles as probes and satellites. the reason why US and it's allies panics is because of their capacity to spy on their neighbors with that satellite.

Hello greenpeas, Well, if there is a nuclear stuff in the main booster part of the rocket i guess it's something that we should worry about. North Korea has not respected our territories and wants to keep up with the US but disregards their own people. THey will definitely be crushed by the Alliance if they pursue this.. well, if it falls on our territory, maybe we should take it as souvenir and not bring it back

Let us just hope that it wont malfunction and hit on some people living in the Ilocos region. If it hits on a heavily populated area, chances of large number of casualties are big.

why should they do that?do they think that Philippines is also a threat for them?even if we dont have the nuclear capabilities...its clearly bullying around they should be penalized if they proceed doing it...

From your discussion I can make out that North Korea has gone mad to conduct such a missile test. If anything goes wrong, it can enter into any country bringing up conflict between the two countries,Which can /may get, converted to world war three Hare Krishna Ganesh

I heard about this a few days ago and this guy said it wouldn't really hit us, even the debris or something would only be hundreds of kilometers away.. I hope it's true.. But it would be better if n country tries to bomb/rocket anyone.

Philippines are still an Agricultural Country, were busy in rice farming, or sending OFW to work abroad, and politics. We didn't send any Filipino Astronaut to walk in space, better call it Cosmonaut. the only Filipino invention that we got is the Moon Buggy that was used by Apollo Mission to moon, but it is still controversial. That if ever any types of rockets that passes over Philippine Territories, were just sitting ducks, or lets pray that everything is normal and fine. Or.... if a Filipino saw the falling debris, it can be seen like a falling star because the atmosphere burns it if it falls, wish upon seeing a falling star, but cannot be seen during daytime.

Hi green, We should launch our own planeless pilots to combat it. Oooops I mean pilotless planes, devices controlled from somewhere in the ground by kids on flight simulators in arcade games. We really can do it, if we get those millions from the congressmen, senators and chief justices to good use.

Everybody should really make an appeal to the North Korean government not to do it because anyway we did not do anything to them we have not offended them what so ever, why do they have to do it, just to prove that they can massacre other people by doing so just to show that they are a powerful country, we should not hesitate and let them know that it is not good and unethical to do because there will be alot of people that will be affected and innocent people might die because of arrogance and irresponsible acts of people, better get this straight once and for all.

Question: if the rocket is intended to send a satellite into orbit, why would it hit within Philippine territory? Shouldn't North Korea ask the Philippines permission to use Philippine territory for this testing? it is a test, right?
