So the other day I got off my phone w/ MIL and looked at the stove to see what time it was. There was no time? no power!! The coffee pot on the other end of the counter was on. The micro around the corner was on but the oven, nope. So I play with the ground fault on the outlet, nothing. I call hubby at work asking if it's a fuse... yes we still have fuses (on our huge list of if I had the money we'd replace/upgrade _______). So yesterday hubby decides that it's the outlet that's messed up. So he buys a new outlet and installs it. But then guess what the one by the coffee pot, and the one by the fridge don't work now. How can this be?!?!? The one by the oven is working now, the one by the microwave still works but now the one with the coffee pot, it's neighbor with the fridge, and then across the kitchen by the table don't work. WTH?!?! Any clues as to what's happening? The fuses are all ok. But hubby is getting frustraited with trying to play with the outlets and fuses and all.

I have never heard of backwards wiring before. I don't see how it's possible to wire things backwards? I can see crossing wires, but nothing else.
