My birthday is fast approaching, and I have mixed emotions. Part of me is a bit excited, obviously it's my special day and it's my chance to receive gift (hahahaha). But worried (BIG TIME) because I need to treat my closest friends ask them out and them, eat a little and buy them some drinks. The problem is the celebration is on Saturday and my payday is on Thursday net week and I keep on thinking where can I lend money for the event. Sometimes I wish, we celebrate birthday's differently so that I won't be able to spare money =)

hi dianon ice14! first off, real interesting handle name you got. care to share how you come about using it? i'm sure there's a nice back story how you got it. secondly, advance happy birthday!!! hope you enjoy the day. back to the topic, aren't your friends suppose to treat you since its your birthday? lol! anyway, don't stress so much about it, i'm sure that they'll understand if you can't treat them on your actual birthday. reserve that actual date for your family and loved ones and just treat your friends on another date whenever you have funds already for a night out or lunch out with them. i wouldn't go as far as asking someone else for money so i can treat my friends on my birthday. that's just me but if you will find someone who'll lend you the money, you can go ahead but make sure to pay up when you have the funds to do so. lol! anyway, you enjoy your birthday and do start a discussion about it so we can read how you spent your special day with family and friends alike. cheers!!!

hi, First of all, my advance birthday wishes to u :-) If you really want to give a party and dont have money for that, u can give a simple party at home which you can prepare yourself with minimal effort. Or else, just tell them the situation and move it to weekend :-) Happy weekend...

Maybe you can just do something that won't cost you a lot of money? I'm sure your friends won't mind spending the night at your place and have some drinks there. You could maybe make them dinner. It's a lot cheaper than going out. Maybe you can go out later then.

It's okay. Just look for better alternatives. I mean better, like cheaper alternatives. Those that cost less. There are many ways you can try, that will lessen your needing for money. And then, try your best, be good at work so you get promoted and your income raised, so by next year, you can make a difference.

Well, can you perhaps explain this to them about your situation and maybe they will understand, maybe celebrate the event the weekend after your payday even, or will they just brush it off and forget it by then? I'm not sure where you can borrow the money from otherwise, perhaps a family member? Maybe you can suggest something else as money is too tight for everyone these days, anyways.

I know right, but the problem is that I am obligated to pursue the celebration this coming Saturday. I will have tutors so that I would be able to have the money that I need. =)

time to break tradition and get your friends to take you out after all its YOUR birthday, not theirs. orstay in and make them something special to eat.

If these people really are your close friends, they'll understand that you're in financial difficulties at the moment, and they'll be willing to adjust their plans accordingly. Is there anything you can think of to have a celebration that will cost you little or no money? Maybe have a party at home where each guest is expected to bring a bottle and/or something to eat. Watching videos or DVDs with friends while slowly getting drunk is a good way to spend a day in my experience.

Well if they are not treating you then something is wrong with that. I mean it is your birthday and everything. I am sure like everyone said already is that they can understand why you cannot do the whole I pay for it deal. I hope that everything goes well with you and your friends. Sometimes you have to make an alternative to everything especially if it costs money. Maybe you can set up something at your house and have fun there as well. The best parties are the ones that are low cost and fun. You do not have to go out all the time. Good luck and happy birthday.

Hi! I'd say having no money on your birthday isn't really a fuzz. It's not something to be so worried about because if your friends care and are real friends, they wouldn't worry about that too. They'd be happy knowing that you've reach another stage of your life and you're still there for them, being their friend. Seeing you happy on that special day of yours will already make them feel happy for you as well. So, smile, be happy! You are not alone. Lots of people can experience this same feeling you have but it's not the end of the world. You've got other reasons to be happy about and not just think of this aspect on your birthday. Everyone will understand, especially your real friends.

you have to let your friend know about your situation, if want to celebrate birthday and have to lend money from someone else, i think it is not a good celebration for your birthday. maybe you can change other type to celebrate, invite them to go your house and cook for them, just celebrate at house i think it will be more saver to you. anyway, wish you happy birthday =)

I'm sure your friends will understand if you can't be able to treat them on your birthday. Or you can tell them if you can just celebrate it during your payday. Advance happy birthday to you! :-)
