Which Book Is Best For Leadership?

I guess, I love discipling people. I do not know but I used to really supervise people whether in secular or in church. But I am not really best in leading. I wonder which book is best that can really help me be a good leader. It is not enough for me to just keep giving commands. I believe that there is still something I have to learn to lead people in the right way. Leading efficiently and effectively is my goal. The question is how can I be both effective and efficient when I have insufficient knowledge about it. Should I look at the works of presidents? Or managers of whatever companies? Maybe you have something in your mind to share. Please lead me to the right book. Thanks

I am glad that you are in a leadership position, leading others, and influencing them to achieve a desired goal. There are different leadership books that I can suggest which includes: 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell, also his other books; Leadership by Zig Ziglar; How to Win Friends and Influence People by Carnegie. These are some of the good books. You can read other books which are helpful in your quest to get more insights on how to lead effectively.

Thanks for suggesting me some books. I will take note of those and find them for myself. It is good to really lead when God is letting me lead others. For now, I depend much to God that He will actually be the one to lead me in leading for at the end it is He who will make those followers to follow. I am merely an instrument to help them grow and yes, experience is very foundational in leadership. That is why I am thanking the Lord for all the experiences I had in my life that make me encourage others. God bless..

...and oh, don't forget the great examples of leadership in the bible. David's leadership is tested and proven, much like Gideon, Joshua, Moses, Abraham, and all great men used by God for leadership.

For me, book is based on the experiences of its author. So I believe that you can be effective in your dream craft just simply being flexible with the unique knowledge in analyzing human behavior. For me, to be efficient in handling and dealing people not only based on your own knowledge but also it has to be with emotion and understanding. A good leader does not only rely on how they will control the people but on how they deal with them. Managers also differs in their strategies that bring them to success or failure. Most managers who are basically rely on their power forgot how to be people oriented that makes them lead to failure. A successful leader for me is someone resppected and followed as a leader and not only because of his power brought about by his position.

The word "discipling" has me puzzled. Either it means you think you are Jesus reincarnate, or you're a frustrated headmaster (or worse ). Leadership, I suspect, is a matter of that wonderful genetic lottery: either you are or you ain't, and while management can certainly be learned, I'm not sure real leadership can. Otherwise I'd rule the world . Lash

I am sorry to tell you but there is not book for teaching you how to become a good leader.. it is deep within you. If you want to be good leader maybe start with looking for role models.. look for models that you know are great leaders and then you will see they are also good followers. Leadership is deep within, it is there within you just search for it.

The right book? You already know it. If you are church going, look no further than the Bible. Want wisdom? It is all inside, but for starters, consider reading Proverbs. The gospels will also give you some insight to how Jesus lead as a servant-leader. All the best.
