Why am I a big baby when it comes to Dr appts. I have one in an hour and I'm so very nervous about it. Do you get nervous before having to go? Do you know why or is it just a routine thing for you to just go and get it over with and not feel nervous? I'm beside myself right now.

I'm always very nervous, too
Even if it is nothing to be afraid of.
I just had one yesterday, but I went after delaying it three weeks ago... I wanted to ask a question,a very important one, but freaked out, and needed time to pull myself together. I know that doctors don't eat human, just had some very bad experience, and it's hard to hear something that I don't want. In the end I always go though.
Hope everything went well on your appointment.

I have had a bad experience before too with them, maybe that is why I'm so squeemish too. Thanks for the little pep talk, I'm glad I'm not alone in this boat. Often a doctor will look at me like I'm from another planet when I feel so nervous. Thats how I felt today again kinda anyways, I have to go back again tomorrow to make matters worse. I only ended up getting blood tests done today after some choices she laid down for me. I get the ultra sound tomorrow and all this with no insurance, too. Gack! I just don't know what the blood tests will show, with anymore bad news or what.

I have gotten to the point that doctors don't phase me anymore. I go in and my blood pressure is running normal or a bit below. I look at it in the respect that doctors are human and by getting nervous about seeing them is giving them more power than they deserve. Sure they went to school for a long time to get the education to put them in a position of being able to diagnose problems and help a person deal with them...but they still are humans. By getting nervous you are giving the doctor more power than he really deserves. Also by getting nervous you tend to forget things that you might want to discuss with him.
I used to be like you and get nervous about seeing the doctor. I would be a total nervous wreck before I saw them and I would forget half of what I wanted to tell them. I finally got over that when I saw one of the doctors in my doctor's complex trip over a rock and do a wonderful prat fall! I suddenly realized that they weren't any better than I was, and that they did stupid things and the only difference is that they spent a LOT of money to get their degree. Since that day I haven't had any problems with being nervous in the doctor's office.
