Last year I have to remain wide awake continuously for two days and as many nights. It happened when my brother-in-law expired suddenly. It all happened so suddenly that we felt shocked and stunned.May be the shock served as a stimulant and I had no difficulty keeping awake for so long.Earlier I had once spent one sleepless night while travelling by a bus through a dense jungle. The next day was a busy day and I could not go to bed before 11 pm.Now I can remain awake at least for two days and two nights.

hey there else22, Wow that is intense, well if you've got something really important to do then i think sleep is the last thing on your mind right, hope you're okay and not have problems after that last time you haven't slept. Sad to hear about your brother in law, my very late condolences and may your family be well at all times.

Yeah me to i try to get maybe 5-6 hours in the day so that i can work properly the whole day, i think i need to rest because I demand so much n my body and it will be unforgivable if i let it degrade because of no sleep then my workouts and beauty or handsoming routines will be for naught.

The longest that I've been able to last was not sleeping that night. After not sleeping for an entire night, the following night, I do feel as though I need some rest. That's really the longest that I've lasted. It's not something that I do very often, or try to do often.

Yeah the only probable reason for us not to try to get a god nights rest is if we really do need to do an all nighter of which has significant importance to work school or personal life, right?

There was one time where I went about a week with maybe three hours of sleep at the very most. Needless to say, never again. I will never for the rest of my life do that ever again. Granted, it was for a project that I needed to get done, but when it was done, I crashed like a baby and I was done for the rest of the day, no way, no how. I think that any more than a day and you're really going to run into some minor issues, with the minor issues being major. And a day may be rather generous. Then again, I'm on a strict sleep schedule, when its time for me to go to sleep, then I'm going to sleep, no matter how everything really falls into place or doesn't fall into place. So essentially sixteen hours. That is how I roll.

Whoa, that is really how you roll. I think it is good that you've done what your supposed to in regards to that project and really a very dedicated person you are my friend. Really just a couple of hours in a week man i think i would have fallen asleep going up the stairs if that was my case.

Me too. I just can hold for a day without sleep and it takes me almost a whole day to cover it. I dislike coffee or other foods that can help me stay awake so I don't take them. A nap will not work with me as well. I don't know how people can take a nap during daylight hours..(^^)

you said it cher, it feels like you have left your soul at home and only your body is going to work like a robot not putting more effort to conserve energy so that you can get back home to sleep and get your soul back, nice description eh?

I don't last very long, I'm afraid. Although I can stay up, my body feels miserable, tired, and worn out. I'd rather get a full 8 hours in, if I could. The only problem it isn't always possible. I usually get split sleep instead! Happy mylotting!

Hey there sacmom, Me too I'd rather get complete 8 hour straight sleep but I cant so what I just do is that i get at least 4 hours of sleep at night then try to grab a nap in the day sometimes i sleep in the train or the jeep anywhere as long as I can grab a quick nap.

Me too. I normally only last 24 hours without sleep and the next thing you'll know I've slept the next 24 whole hours already. However, there was a time that I slept only for 2-3 hours for 5 nights straight. I wasn't a pretty sight the next 3 days or so. I got so sick with constipation and my allergies went on and attacked my already weak system so I'm SO sick you can't even recognize it's me. Hope people didn't experience such a thing... Happy MyLotting!

Hey there sinful rose whoaaa, Good thing am a nurse and that i don't consider those too much information, anyway i think it is really best that you avoid not getting right kind of sleep, and taking some multivitamins maybe would provide more energy and help you recover faster. Take care now.

I don't know why but I can't take the usual multivitamins you can buy everywhere--according to my allergologist that it's because I'm allergic to them. I only can handle the natural form of nutrients so I use herbs and organic/herbal supplements. I guess, I don't accept it because I'm used to the naturals. Sometimes, I eat only fruits and vegetables just to get the nutrients I need. Being stuffed is not a question--I always get hungry. (I'm a certified pig) And yes, a lot of sleep is needed to maintain a good health. Sleep, less stress and a lot of meditation it seems...

The most I've ever stay up, without sleep was 3 days. I was so tired that I felled asleep at the table eating. I had around two liters of coffee and around 5 of Coca Cola. It was the worst feeling I've ever felt. I don't recomend this tipe of life for nobody.

The longest time I was able to stay awake was two days. I was studying for my exams and didn't leave enough time for myself to prepare for one of them. I decided to stay awake at night to study. I passed the exam, but it wouldn't have made much difference if I had slept at night instead.I felt very dizzy all day and never wanted to try this again.

HI there leon, We are on the same page my friend I do have a hard time trying to function for the whole day when i lack sleep, it is very hard for me to perform at my optimum potential for that specific day and I think I will loose the strength to do all the things like i will pass on my workout regimen if i lack the energy. Thank you for your compliment i am not a great man i think im just in need of change or em-betterment in my life.

Two whole days, I drank coffee like it was nobody's business, lollll. About a year ago,I was in university and I had this presentation to make, the person I was partnered with to do the presentation did absolutely nothing, so it was left up to me to get it done or else none of would've been given a mark. So for two days, no sleep but lots and lots of coffee and mind you I was a part time stuent so I was working fulltime in the day and at nights I was in school. Needless to say even though I didn't feel tired initially, by day three I crashed and burned. I never did that again, but on the plus side WE got some top marks for the work done.

I think I can skip a night and still function well without any help. Don't know if I can do it longer than that. Never tried it before, and I've never been that curious to see how much I can make it without sleep. I kind of like resting. It's good for me :).

Well vertu it is good for everybody to get enough rest fo the day so that we have enough energy to last the next day for our daily routines. For me i think the longest is 30 hours and that is at work, something gets you busy but without it i think i can doze off while talking to another person if really sleepy.

Hi, I am too much fond of sleep. You can say sleeping is my hubby. So far I have remained awake for a night. Not more than this. And like you I too need a sleep of at least three top fours hours. And on holiday, and have nothing serious work to do I can lay like a log for as along as 10 hours. And on holiday, after lunch I need to sleep for at least an hour. I do not welcome people on such day. lol.

this is not a very healthy thing to do, so I never experimented with sleep this way. usually it would happen I only slept for like 4 hours and then I stayed awake for 8 or so more hours before sleeping again, but as I said it wasnt to 'test' how much I can stay awake without sleep, so guess that kinda doesnt count.
