Earning cash by blogging!

Hello guys! I was curious about your opinion on this particular topic. I have started a blog where I present my "web design" work. The blogger.com platform has become a lot more interesting since I used it the last time. Around these posts with my work, I alse write some articles that can help a new designer find some places where he can actually see what is the market out there. The blog is pretty new and I don't see it going extremely well in the next days, but I wanted to put an adsense banner on the website just in case. How do you think a banner like this can change the feel of a website? Is it a good professional look that some of the commercials give, or is it a cheap way of making some money and the public would feel brutalized by it?
