'Get Rich Slowly' vs. Desired Financial Windfall

I prefer to get rich slowly. We all want to get rich by building wealth, but we are swindled by methods of gaining desired financial windfall. A lot of ads that advertise how to make quick and easy money. We are lured by 8 to 9-figure lottery jackpots on billboards. We play in casinos hoping to win big. But those things depend on pure luck and chance. The ads that blazon, "Become a millionaire in a few months," are likely to be "get rich quick" schemes. The jackpots also have a dark side, especially when you don't keep mum about that. Why? Relatives and friends that you had not seen or met before emerge out of the woodwork to badger you for portions of your winnings. One lotto winner from the Tampa Bay area (where I live) was killed by his girlfriend claiming to hide him from demanding friends and family. Thus, I prefer building wealth over time over something that promises quick and easy money. I'm doing an MLM and budgeting at the same time. While many people earn lots with the latter method at a short time, I decided to build my business slowly. (MLM's are notorious for putting people off because they think that they'd get rich fast with them.) Also, I'm doing volunteering and/or getting a part-time job at the side to further expand my horizons in acquiring customers and sponsors in my MLM. (The latter would enable me to set aside even more money.) So, what would you rather build wealth with - a sudden amount of money you'd receive or a plan to accrue wealth over time with little to no risk?

I want to get rich quick now! We are in the same industry, MLM. I've been in this business for quite long time now, and have already learned so many things about this business. I've been earning a living from this business, and I guess, it's time for me to get rich quick now. There's nothing wrong with getting rich quick as long as you know what to do with your new-found wealth.

I'm of the same mind. Get rich quick schemes are a waste of time and will actually make you poorer. Building up a business step by step and brick by brick is the only way to make it. I can't think of a single famous entrepreneur who didn't have to go through months or years of struggle before they were successful. In any case, winning a million in a lottery or something like that would be nice as far as it goes, but you surely wouldn't get the same sense of pride as if you'd built up an empire from scratch.
