writing based on experience

Good day Fellow Mylotters, Just a quick one, I believe every writer has its own inspiration. Especially when they are writing a story or jotting down a topic to discuss. But, what keeping me thinking is that, are those writers, really writes based on their own experience or it is just a simple idea that came across in their minds. Same thing here at this site, when somebody is opening and starting a discussion, is it really coming from his/her own experience or just an idea that came across.

Hello airasheila! There are different kinds of writers. Not all of that they write came from their experience. But on my part, I usually write based on my experience.

I suppose it depends on the personality of the writer. I know that some people online write articles based on their own experiences. Others prefer to research. Many are just imaginative. They can see an object and come up with a story for it. Some prefer to go by their own cultures. Then there are others who can combine all of those in their writings.

Hi Airasheila, I love writing because writing can help me to express what I feel inside. When I write a story (a novel) usually it is based on my own experience or other people's experience so I can think a better details to help writing the novel but sometime it is just an idea across my mind. I usually take a person or some people as model of my characters then I improve the character with my ideas. So when I write a novel it is based on reality and also just idea from my mind. But when i started a discussion it is based on my own experience because it is not only helping me to relief my stress but also I can get advice and suggestion from mylot members, posting our own experience on mylot is just like posting an online journal/diary but the difference is that we get feedback from people who read our discussion. I think the benefit of posting my own experience I wont have difficulty to comment back on the response, it will flow by itself & just let out what I feel inside.

Mostly I write from my own experiences as it makes easy to write and it feels good to share our feelings. But sometimes I do write about the hot topics to know the views of others about that topic.

I think it is tentative. We can post both of them. :)

That depends. When I write something nonfiction, I write both on things I have experience with and things I am curious about but have no experience. Writing about things I'm curious about is a great way to learn new things because it forces me to research. Sometimes I write about something that has happened to me or something that I know about due to experience. It just depends on the mood I'm in, I guess!

For me a lot of the discussions that I start are about personal experiences that I have been thru, but there are times that they might just be on a topic I felt like starting a discussion on and wanted an opinion or two. Writing here is quite interesting and you can really learn a lot about someone. That is what keeps on making this site so unique.

I think that people should always write based on experience because they might say something or have something to say that could save someone's life or it could change how they look at their life and the lives of others. There are 7 billion people on this earth and that is 7 billion stories that could be told, and they are all stories that could make people think about who they are and what they are, and why they do what they do, or why they could be here. Everyone is a book.

I think that it depends. Sometimes, when I'm writing, I'll either draw from my own experience, or have an idea that I'll write about.

i must agree that most writers write based on their experience but there are also paid writers who are asked to write about something they don't have any idea of. they do researches and write about it, then they learn. i actually write in my bloga bout my personal experiences as a mother and do some reviews as well. i also accept writing jobs must i just pick those that are interesting with me. i think i would be an effective writer if i can write with my interest in and love for.

I think we can find writing inspiration everywhere. Just like what you said that it can be derived from self experience or an idea which comes in mind. For me writing based on the self experience is much more easier than to write something I never felt or did before. Writing based on sekf experience is like telling somebody about our experience so I can tell people about when, what, how and everything cos it's based in the real thing. I will find difficulty when I should write something I nevet knew or felt before cos I should find to answer whar, when, where or how. So fir starting discussion here, yes I like to tell everyone here about my experience and share it with you than I write something I dont know about it much such as gossip or other countries..

Generally it people write from experiences because it is easy to share and you are knowledgable of what you are talking about. But if you are into creative writing, it is usually a fusion of your experience, other people's experience, research and imagination. No matter where the idea came from, I think the important thing is that you get your message to the readers and you were able to entertain them and give your knowledge on the subject matter also that you are enjoying what you do.

Good day everyone on mylot.I dnt think so that writing is based on experience..We can write anything, whenever any idea or thought came across in our mind.I m not a writer but sometimes I write whtever I feel. But many peoples write whtever dey experience. So I think it depends on situation dat person is writing on the base of experience or just a thought came across to their minds.. Thanks..

if i am writing for an article, i usually merge my thoughts and experiences in the piece. but if it is a short form of writing, for example, a discussion in this site, then a thought or idea can be the source of that discussion, and not necessarily based on experience. writing based on experience is easy because one has to narrate the events, no need for imaginative creations of events.
